So, I have several long range, carbon fiber-stainless-plastic rifles, and while I love shooting them at distance, they are nothing like the soul of a wood stocked blued rifle. Indeed, lately I have been acquiring a couple of these classical rifles, but it continuously gnaws on me how to protect them from the elements when they are performing their duty in the wild ;-) So, I was wondering if there is a cerakote color that approximates the color and luster of blued finish? That would kill two birds with one stone, protection from the elements and beautiful, classy appearance. Any thoughts or suggestion are welcome. (I know the obvious one would be to get rid of my OCD tendencies but I am afraid I will go to the grave with them unchanged...)
Thank you, Ferenc

In short no. But i have a old springfield 22lr singke shot that had the finnish mostly worn off. I cerecoated all metal od green the green with the wood looks wonderful.

Duracoat has several options available. I’ve used the blue-black with good results.

I would love to match the Weatherby/Colt royal blue on my build when done

Cerakote has a gloss black that looks pretty good.

Wow, that last one looked amazing do you know what the name for that color is?

I am using the Midnight Blue on my CZ 550. The research pics I have seen are really nice. Weatherby Mark V quality? Nope. Not even close, but we're talking about a completely different process here. Check out some examples online and good luck/have fun with it!

thank you Sir. Where is Erik operating from?

I’ve heard that Midnight Blue is close and they can just how much gloss there is based on your preference.

+100 for Tip’s gloss black, have it on a number of rifles he’s worked on. Deep blue like color with all the protection of a Cerakote job.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
