Buffalo or elephant?

Elephant all day every day and twice on Sunday

For those who have hunted both, which would you rather go back for?
Old thread, posted 2021.
But, the answer is evergreen, so let it be noted again: buffalo!

Do one hippopotamus hunt on land (particularly in the sugarcane fields at night). Just one.

I'm begging you. You won't regret it. You'll probably become an addict like me.

Habib, if you promise me to do elephant at night, then we have a deal..

Hippo on land at night is pretty special.

I’ve only killed one tuskless. But it is not like any other hunt I have done.

It’s hard to explain to people why you would enjoy killing an elephant.

I try anyway. And say I don’t enjoy killing them. I enjoy hunting them. The kill is hard to explain.

My cow was ancient with only stubs of hair left on her tail. I felt remorse and happiness at the same time.

We had several sketchy close calls with pissed off cows on my hunt.

I don’t enjoy watching elephants getting killed on tv. I enjoy watching the hunt on TV. But I do understand how a non hunter would feel watching elephant hunts.
You have to be on the trail and experience the work and pain and miles. Seeing everything that elephant did all day long. Seeing country you would never see unless on that trail.
when actually on the hunt it’s a different feeling.

I love tracking Buffalo but I would choose to hunt elephant if I had to choose.

Love hunting both!
1A Elephant Bull (haven't hunted a tuskless yet)
1b Buff
2. Leopard (follow up in the dark is also pucker factor inducing)

@Altitude sickness We describe one of the reasons we enjoyed are ele hunt is that it produced 11126, 6 oz portions of meat to the three villages close by.

Buffalo became somewhat of an addiction for me, but elephant, that’s an experience that changes you.

Buffalo are tough, mean, and vindictive!

Lions are not afraid of humans and if pushed too hard or are wounded will hunt you with the utmost stealth and speed. They also own the night.

Elephant are very smart, silent in disappearing into the bush, and communicate with others to turn a peaceful herd into a ruthless gang bent on stomping to death whatever you are!

Hunting elephant is a game of chess against a master.

Killing an elephant is to better an equal which affects one's soul. I felt when killing an elephant somewhat as I did when putting down my faithful dog. For my dog it had to be done. The elephant had a few more years before it would starve to death.

What amazes me is how silent these huge animals, elephants, can move through the bush..

Having hunted and killed several buffalo and a couple of elephants, I’d say tuskless cow was the most fun hunting of all. Multiple elephant encounters per day is the norm. And you have to get really close to look over the whole herd. Buffalo is also very enjoyable, but there’s something about getting within 15 yds of an elephant that is hard to match.

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
