I'm here with another random question that's on my mind imagine a scenario where you are on an hunt but you "tag out" earlier than expected and have down time b4 the end of your trip and your PH suggests a fishing trip at a local lake or fishing spot what do you guys think about tackle and lures that would be the most versatile if your not going after a particular species

All the places I fished in Africa, the tackle was supplied but I did bring some Roostertail spininers for tigerfish and they caught fish. Be advised, everyone in Africa fishes spinning outfits left handed for no apparent reason other than someone started it and they never changed. I always switched the handles Instead of casting and retrieving with one hand, they cast with one and then switch hands to muscle the fish with their left arm. Drives me nuts, but maybe everyone is left handed?

My father said in WW2, when he was in the south pacific, bangalore torpedos worked well.

Hmmm so they will use spinning gear even if they run the chance of hooking a tigerfish????

So roostertails are the 30-06 of fishing in africa as well as here in the states????

To those who fished tigerfish, pls provide photo of the lures that could be usable?

Plenty of heavy sprinners supplied but if you lose one it's twelve bucks. I used my own. White and red worked for tigerfish in Cahorra Basa. IIRC, this was 1/2 or 3/8 oz with red hook.

Took a good friend of mine from South Africa fishing for Redfish last winter and he started complaining about the way my spinning reels were set up. I replied damnit man, you Africans drive on the wrong side of the road and fish on the wrong side of the creek! About 30 seconds after I said that, i hooked into a 15lbs Striper!

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
