Actually my bags have been packed for 3 weeks...leaving tomorrow afternoon...Delta to ATL...then JNB...then overnight at Africa Sky this time...then fly to Polokwane...then drive all over Limpopo for a week chasing tiny 10 and night critters with a 22 Hornet...BUT I've got a 416 just in case something interesting on quota pops up. I will write up a report when I return.

Right now we have made a plan for Sharpes grysbok, klippie, red duiker, steenbok and some night critters. We will see how it goes.

Safe travels, looking for a hunt report of a successful hunt!!

Enjoy have fun its very dry, hot and dusty at the moment in Limpopo.
Chances of afternoon showers are still slim.

Good luck Sir. You were one of the main people who helped me on this forum with advice before I went for the first time. I look forward to your report. May everything go well for you...

Best of luck! I enjoy night hunting. Lots of challenging hours sitting in a blind…

So glad you got started with Africa! One thing I have learned that is essential in Africa is flexibility and the ability to make another plan. Case in point, I found out this week that my gun permit for this trip didn't have both rifles listed...but as I go to the airport today, it has been resolved...I think. That kind of thing can be stressful but with good communication you can work it out. When I land tomorrow, if it's not right, we will sort it out. Experienced African hunters will tell you the same...go with the flow and enjoy the ride. It all works out in the end.

Enjoy the hunt! Looking forward to your report
Cheers, Marius

Sitting in the bottom of OR Tambo waiting for my Airlink flight north. Those shoe shine guys get more aggressive every trip it seems!

Good luck, feel free to send WhatsApp messages and photos!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
