Just booked a last minute hunt near Tatlayoko Lake BC in the Coast Mtns for a Canadian moose. Couldn’t pass up the price Arrive Williams Lake BC on October 11 and hunt 7 days. Cabin based hunt. Mule deer and whitetail available as well. Will have a wolf tag in case of the most improbable of events. What say Yee? Anyone know this area? Any insight? Have never hunted moose. I’m taking 06 with 180 TSX

I did a BC moose hunt a few years ago. One out of the three of us got a moose and an elk. We were further north, around Hudson’s Hope. The area we hunted had a lot of oilfield and logging roads, so we bumped into quite a few other hunters. It was not the remote wilderness hunt that I had hoped for.

B.c. can be very spotty by area ranging from no game at all to great hunting. Some outfitters get an area and overhunt it for several years. I would get 2 or 3 references from the last 2 years before booking. Beautiful country and great possibilities. Good luck with however you decide.

Your gun and ammunition should be fine. I also got a wolf on my B.C. moose hunt. At the time the extra tags were $50. For the money you should have all the tags available to you.

Yes. $52 I think. Just on the off chance

Be as quiet as the grave. Moose have GREAT hearing. Good luck and enjoy!

Take some anti inflammatory medication. You’ll need it if you shoot your moose.

Good luck.

Tatlyoko is a great area, dramatic mountains, very remote. Good moose population due to very restrictive draw, as a large part is Chilquot land ( read up on what happens if your land is repossessed from under your white man's arse.) if this is the outfitter at the end of Tatlyoko lake, then you will go into the Homatko drainage and likely not see another soul for the entire time. Big time fires around Tatla at the moment, Highway 20 is closed on and off. The coast mountains seem to be ok and there was some rain in the past 2 days.
We had a cabin there for 20 years.... now moved to city for impending retirement. I miss it.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
