Axis or Fallow Deer outfitters in USA

I hunted in Florida back in February and got this nice Axis in velvet. The outfitter was Florida Hunting Adventures located near Sebring.

Good afternoon! My dad and I actually just got back from a FREE RANGE axis deer hunt in Sonora, Texas. We went with El Sapo Guide Service. We've hunted all over the world, and we have to say that the guys at El Sapo are some of the most professional out there. The knowledge, professionalism, lodging and the 5-star meals are second to none. Go to their website and reach out to Brandon (owner). Very rocky terrain, so lace up! It is currently in the middle of rut, so the males were loud in the evenings. It is southcentral Texas in the middle of summer, so it was HOT (mid 90s F). Due to the weight of the cooler and only allowing 5.5LBS of dry ice on a plane, I was only able to bring back 35LBS of meat... we donated the rest of the meat to a local food bank. Great trip and great hunt. I would highly recommend Brandon at El Sapo Guide Service. Happy hunting where ever you end up going!

Axis are widespread enough to offer really interesting free range hunts. On high fence ranches they offer a far better hunt than the whitetail because they rarely use feeders . Whitetail tend to be more an issue of selecting the one you want for the wall. Unless the property is huge, fallow stags are, at least in my experience, a terrible choice to hunt behind a fence. They very quickly become habituated to humans and tend to stand around staring trustingly.

The free range one that I took several years ago in Austria was an exceptional experience.

Really nice fallow buck. I would guess he was over 3 kg probably close to 4.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
