Areas that have relatively easy walking...

Thanks Throwback - I have been fortunate to travel quite a bit so I understand the potential difficulties you note. Having said that, most of my travelling has been in Europe. I have hunted in Hungary and Yugoslavia, and then Serbia after the war, but I am sure that was very different than Africa.

I don't have any moral qualms about hunting from a vehicle, and have done so in the past. However this will probably be a once in a lifetime trip for me so I'd like to really soak in as much of the feeling, smells and sounds as possible.

When I was a kid I'd read about hunting and guns - and in those days there were books about hunting available in my elementary school library. I REALLY wanted to hunt Cape Buffalo. But that was a lifetime ago and now I am happy with whatever the bush gives me - it doesn't have to be something every day either. I'd like to eat some of the game, maybe even prepare some my own way for the camp staff - just enjoy all aspects of the opportunity.
I get that. I can still hear the leaves rustling and the smell of the waterhole in Limpopo. The vehicle was great for scouting, but you can't beat being in God's nature. Good luck, My Man!

I hunted in the Limpopo area with Jurie Meyer Safaris. It is mostly flat, with dirt roads covering most of the ground. We drove around in a truck with a bench seat overlooking the cab so we had wide views of the bushveld. Spot and stock was the norm, but half the time I shot from the truck. Jurie could easily set you up with hunting from a blind if that's what you want, he is very accommodating, versatile. Just tell Jurie what you want and he will make it happen. I also brought my wife, and she is not a hunter so we did some sightseeing. Victoria falls was wheelchair accessible, as was the motel and lodges we stayed at. I had my PH, tracker, skinner, driver and sometimes a second tracker, so I had at least four or more people with me at all times, I thought was overkill but with you, it would be nice to have the extra hands to help with getting in and out of the truck. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
