Thanks guy. Us old fellers need to stick together and I see no reason why what has worked so well since 1888 will not continue to work if I do my part. Even the Martini carbine in 303 I restored would still kill a deer out to as far as I could see to make a hit any day with just as much ease as the most modern rifle.
As bought with the blank I intended to use

I made a case to carry it (and ran out of the cover material which was no longer available so the patch over the rifle is all there was for the lid)

And a short vid of it having a run at 75yds with a plinking load of a 185gn cast bullet at about 1750 fps that would still take a deer to 150 yds if needed. Have faster loads but not sure they are needed.

.....haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, waiting on an ejector, but here's an early pic of my 7.65x53 before I welded the spoon bolt handle on.
It's a 1904 Verueiro action with a 1909 Argy barrel in an old Brno stock, the scope is only sitting there, I haven't made the mount yet.

Fellows, this is my question!
I have a Mauser customized 7,65x54 argentino, a great machine and a very good caliber... My doubt is... Anyone uses the bullets I use?
I know someone, like velodog, use the .303 british, wich has the same bullet and velocity than my mauser, but...
ANYONE USE THIS OLD SHOTS?
Please, tell me about the animals you shot down!
thanks!
@Marcos Rodriguez
I've used Speer, Sierra and Hornaday 150 grain projectiles in my 303 at 2,600++ fps with very good results on large pigs, goats and deer.
For sambar deer I used the Barnes 150gn TSX. Quatrtering shot behind the last rib exited off side shoulder. I don't know if Barnes still make them but I've got about 50 if someone wants to buy them in OZ

And I just traded into a 1901 BSA&Co Mk l* that needs a barrel and stock

It has matching numbers but a bolt handle treatment I hadn't seen before --- maybe mounted infantry???? anyone with an idea
@ Von Gruff
Check the bolt on an Irish constabulary carbine 303. Very similar.
Bob.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
