Members I am still in need to purchase a:

Swedish Mauser M38 & M96 NDT Picatinny Scope Mount Low Profile Gen 2

Challenge being it seems that regulations require a export permit for this item... is this true or will a hunter visiting South Africa be able to bring such a product with, without being confiscated and arrested ?

Gert, why don't you want to use a set of Weaver, Warne or other bases and rings? They work fine on all of my Swedes.

Shootist, this rifle , M96 is the Original 6.5x55 version..I do not want to drill/tap the receiver..I already bought Lynx type stud scope bases for the Shilen barreld M96 receiver ....with this BAD ACE no drill/tap mount it will work great and be accurate to shoot out to 300 meters accurately..
Currently it seems new regulations/rules are in place forbidding any fire arm related product to be brought to South Africa without a permanent export permit.

I think it is due to South Africa being in bed with russia, china and north korea....we still have the communist ideology as part of the government here is South Africa..

So the chance for this BAD Ace scope mount to be confiscated while a friend is bringing it to SA is about 99%.

Even if I want a citizen of Canada where these BAD ACE scope mounts are manufactured a traveling hunter needs to apply for a permanent export permit from government /state department of Canada. It will not be possible to put one in his rifle case to bring it through ....

I am not even sure if the arabs on doha airport will honor the permanent export permit issued by the Canadian state department..

Gert, I recently posted a photo of a target shot using one of the "original" 1896 Swedish Mausers. By "original" I mean one from the first tranche of these rifles ever produced. It was manufactured in Obendorf, Germany in Mauser's Waffenfabrik because Sweden was in the process of building its own arsenal which was later named the Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori . A little over 40,000 Swedes were produced in Germany under this arrangement. As I stated in my post, this is the only Mauser produced Swede that I've ever seen. From the 6 shot MOA group one can easily see that these 128 year old guns can still shoot. My rifle still has the original (I think) military barrel on it. Since your rifle wares a Shillen barrel, it has no collector's value whatever. A set of modern bases and rings will get you into competition in short order. Here is a link to that post.

The reason the shots appear to be high, is that I'm purposely sighting it in for 200 Yds.

I know how accurate the Carl Gustav M96 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser is ...this is the reason I need to scope my original military full stock M96 . To do that I have two choices, import the BAD Ace Scope mount of build a scope mount replica of the BAD ACE no drill/tap mount.
My Lynx stud type scope bases arrived today , I will be fitting it to my Shilen/Carl Gustaf barreld action. I received a HOWA 6.5x55 Swedish composite stock another hunter replaced it with a Boyds stock...will use this as a substitute until I can purchase a chassis or build a Wall nut rifle stock for the 6.5 x 55 Shilen barreld action.

Gert, this is how my Carl Gustav is mounted although customized it has the original barrel, bolthandle and safety has been modified.

All rilfe parts has been an issue to import from the USA it has been like that for years its not a sudden change because of political climate you will need and ITAC permit for any rifle parts. Even gunslings believe it or not.

Frederik, yes, I have bought the same scope bases from Thor Engineering works Pretoria. It will be use to fit a scope onto my Shilen barreld action Carl Gustaf receiver/action. But I need a BAD ACE No dril/tap scope mount for the original military full stock M96 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser since I do not want to drill /tap this rifle ,

If I was you keep it as is shoot open sights and enjoy the other one with scope on.

I see with high mounts the bolthandle should clear the eyepiece but then the scope will be uncomfortably high from the stock

Frederik, bending the bold handle really would not affect the original condition, since numerous original M96 Full stock military M96 rifles has bend bolts already..it is when you drill and tap the receiver then it matters. I can only hit when I can see what I am looking at....scope is important to me when I want to shoot accurately ...I then can use the M96 to it`s full potential Federik.

Frederik, some feedback. The BAD ACE NO DRILL/TAP scope mount is an excellent product. It is extremely sturdy, mounting a scope on it is easy . I sort out your concern in regards to the high scope mounted that will make shooting difficult....no not so , I just fitted a stock cheek piece and now it is as comfortable and accurate to shoot this rifle with the scope mount. My eye is perfectly level/lined up with the scope lens, adjusting parallax is not an issue as well.
This was a great idea to bring this scope mount into South Africa , thank you again Jason , one of our members who brought this product from USA to SA for me...it really is much appreciated Jason.

I will be asking a member who will be visiting South Africa this last part of the year to bring me the BAD ACE NO DRILL/TAP scope mount for my K31 Schmidt&Ruben 7.5x55 mm rifle .

Members this scope mount product is just great . If you has a M96 Carl Gustav 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser you do not want to drill and tap , this is the option to take.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
