Am I overthinking this?

Tried the round several times over the course of the session with same result.

I'm assuming that means that you put the misfired cartridge back in the gun and dropped the firing pin on it again, several times? If so, and other cartridge were working properly, I'd say that it's almost 100% a bad cartridge.

If it were me, I could never hunt with those shells again, espeically in a DG scenario.

Tried it immediately after the FTF. Same result. Then tried it twice more among successful runs. Failed both times. Only failure ever With this rifle. I am going to do a complete strip and clean, as well as replacing the spring. Can’t hurt. Then run a couple more boxes through it.

Good morning. I had a Ruger in 9.3x62. Ruger did a recall on them allegedly for misfires. Ruger called me and asked me to send it back (they paid the shipping) and the return document stated "...spring replaced, and test fired..." I had not fired it before shipping it as they called me days after my purchase.

As to your issue, your actions when a misfire occurs are as important as the misfire. Too many people handle a misfire or malfunction like a hog looking at a wristwatch. Factory ammo failures are rare but not uncommon.

Safe shooting

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
