And this, sports fans, is why we need to use airtags.

They saved my day! Delta in Jacksonville decided to not load my rifled on the plane. Showed the gate agent my rifles were still up front, he did everything in his power to get them on the plane. Well worth the money!

As I understand one has to have an Apple device to work with the air tags. Is there an Android equivalent?

Yes, they are just released, something to do with stalker feature held them up. Chipolo's are shipping now, and I guess others too.

Some are not as good as others! Apple ones seem to work the best. I’m sure there’s a good review on them.
We had non Apple ones they are WOFTAM…

Please share which ones you have had before. From all I know they are only out now.

Perhaps you are talking about other ones that either works through GPS or with a special app? The new Android ones are working in the same manner as Airtags, ie just being near any (updated) android phone without requiring a GPS signal or a special app.

They are called chipolo one spot. Bloody rubbish.

There are GPS tracking devices and there are AirTags...they are not the same.

A GPS tracking device will need a battery along with a subscription to a network. Prices vary depening on how often you want the GPS tracker to "ping". These do not require cell phone service and work completely on the GPS network. These are typically used for expensive equipment in the $100K and up range. I have a neighbor who has them for his computer equipment traveling with them in Pelican cases. His company picks up the charges for the GPS device rental (not cheap) and the subscription.

AirTags (and the like) are more accurately called proximity devices because they need a mobile phone connected to a mobile phone network in proximity to them...in order to be tracked. These are much less expensive but very effective for regular luggage and firearms travel on airlines.

It's all in what YOU decide you need or want in a tracking device. Personally, I would not travel without AirTags attached to my luggage and firearms.

I used a Tile in my gun case and checked bag. At least it told me it was on the aircraft.

I put one in my gun case and it sure helps ease one concern about where that case is during travel.

There is a new tag for SAMSUNG ONLY. Called the Smart Tag 2 . They only work on Samsung devices so Pixel phones will not work. I gave them a trial run alongside the Apple Air Tag from St. Louis to San Francisco over the Memorial Day weekend in preparation for my August trip to Limpopo and they worked perfectly. I don't think they updated location as often as Air Tags but that could be just the fact they came in contact with more Apple devices than Samsung devices. Regardless I flew Delta and was able see them throughout the airport and on the plane with me. I connected via Delta WiFi and they showed up on my phone there as well. Since I have an older Ipad I plan to put one of each in my baggage and gun case and hedge my bets for all upcoming trips...I just fly more comfortably when it shows my bags are under me at 35000 feet...LOL.

It appears I will need to buy the cheapest apple device I can that will work with air tags. I've no use for apple devices, never have used them, never will. Not fond of microspurt either.

I simply had my daughter track my rifle case with her iPhone and she texted my Samsung android with images of the case's location. It worked well.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
