Africa Of Your Wildest Dreams, Explore & Hunt Zambia With Mbizi Game Reserve

Night patrol from our anti poaching groups is very effective, well done to group ONE, two poachers arrested yesterday night with a shotgun loaded with buckshots, thanks to income from small selectiv trophy hunting we can then founding this patrols on Mbizi, without anti-poaching there should be NO game at all in this part of Africa !

A videoclip one evening at Mbizi, it’s a pure evidence that hunting is the tool for substantial wildlife conservation. Without income from hunting we can’t keeping anti-poaching units that protect the animals. So this is the result of a very small off take from legal and controlled hunting.... it’s stimulating and keep us continue.

Hi All, we finished a safari last week with a Fantastic 38" Livingstone Eland, a 18" Puku, Great Warthog and Zebra.

Lyson Zulu is an important part of Mbizi Game Reserve when he represented us in Pretoria / South Africa last year in the field of anti-poaching units for a better wildlife future.

Luangwa Valley is a very hot place, and when it’s comes to hanging meat in the process of tenderizing, it will go bad within 1 day because of the high temperatures. Therefore we are finally now ready with our game meat abattoir and cooling room, where we can in a hygienic environment hanging the carcass for the first 24 hours in 10 degrees Celsius, and after that for 8 days in 5 degrees to get the optimal game meat quality where a coefficient of 48 is reached (temp X days).

We are pleased to announce that 2019 was a successful year for our anti-poaching unit. With planning/investigations and infiltration 10 muzzle-loaders was confiscated during the year, and was yesterday handle over to our cooperative partners at DNPW.

We clearly see that anti-poaching efforts gives results with increase of game numbers on Mbizi, but the rain season is a peak for illegal hunting. This poacher was arrested by one of our anti-poaching units 02,00 in the night after shooting a Kudu, butchering it and fast drying the meat over fire. He was handle over to DNPW and the local police that was acting very professional.

Anti poaching unit on Mbizi.
Camouflage uniforms is from last year restricted in Zambia to military and government officers, and can not be used by private operated anti poaching units. Ghillie-suits is not a camo pattern, and it’s melting in when everything is green during the rain season. In combination of a tracking unit, this guys is more stationary posted with communication radio and night vision.
To protect the animals and wildlife we take anti poaching very serious.
