This is long, long overdue. I joined this forum a few years ago and pretty much sat quietly in the corner, just tuning in to the conversations.
The wealth of experience, on this forum, as well as the banter keeps me coming back for more. I may even have snuck in a post or two over the years before introducing myself. Rude, I know.
So here it is, my official “hello”.
I appreciate this forum, and its members for the wealth of knowledge and the gentlemanly manner and tone in which everyone shares in their passion. After spending years reading almost every post, the members here are starting to feel like old friends.
I was fortunate enough to grow up hunting on family farms in Namibia and South Africa, where it was just another chore. I rediscovered hunting again a few years ago after I realised what I took for granted after returning from a few years’ stint in London.
I now call Cape Town home but I make fairly regular hunting trips to Namibia, the Karoo and Eastern Cape. While all my hunting to date have been done with calibers ranging from .270 to .300 Win Mag, I look forward to doing some wing shooting soon with my newly-acquired, early eighties vintage Remington 870 Wingmaster.
