Has anyone out there ever fired or had experience with the 700 or 600 AHR rifles? Would love to hear post firing experiences from any brave souls out there who’ve had the privilege of owning or firing one?!

I have a .550 Magnum from AHR and it is awesome. Have never shot the 700 AHR but I keep going back to the listing here. :-). I have shot the 600 Overkill and it is formidable. If you want a truly huntable rifle (for most), but still want the "what the heck is that" questions, I would recommend looking for a .550 Magnum.

I have no reason to keep going back to the .700 listing. . . but do. :)

I do agree with your recommendation b/c you have to be able to control all that horsepower in certain situations. The appeal/curiosity of the 600 or 700 though I must say is still there. Have you had the opportunity to go on a hunt with your .550 and are you pleased with the workmanship of the rifle? Did it use the same Granite Mountain square bridge Mauser type action as the subject rifle? Thanks for your input!

I have not hunted the .550. It is on the CZ-550 Action. Don't know if I will take the .550 over next trek as I am thinking of a one rifle trip with my Heym .404. I have killed with an AHR in .458 Lott and if you aren't used to the true big boys, one of Wayne's Rifles in .404, .416 or .458 (heck .375) would be great as well. While Wayne and Ed used different actions, I would estimate over 90% of AHR rifles will be based on the CZ-550.

Fit/finish has been great on all AHR rifles I have handled.

So I'm guessing that a 416 Rigby (father of the 450 Rigby and 460 Weatherby (with a belt added)) would work fine?
I recall the 378 Weatherby was around prior to the 460. The 460 is based off of the 378. I think the 378 brass is a little bit different than the Rigby, but close. I bet it would work, but then you have head stamp issues if traveling.

True enough, Thanks

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
