416 ruger African or guide gun like i need another 416

I like both the New Haven Classics, Safari Express and the Super Express.

But for a week to four weeks of wet tent camping and hunting, I like stainless better. Less maintenance for me. Being the hunter, the guide, and the cook my time spent on rifle maintenance is minimal.

These types seem to survive relatively well in my non-salt environment.

Especially if you’re hunting in Alaska !

I never buy rifles for investment since I shoot them all (no safe queens!). A couple of years ago Lipsey's made a special edition of a 416 Ruger for the Alaska Professional Hunters Association (APHA). All of the extra rifles were being sold out of Arctic Ammo in Wasilla, AK. It would have been an intriguing guide gun to me if the bolt had been on the other side. I think I liked this one because it doesn't have that ugly butt stock that their other guide guns are afflicted with. :D

I have a Ruger Alaskan in .416 ruger - great little gun, super handy/nimble - they come up on gun broker from time to time.

Also you can never have too many .416's. I have four myself...Don't tell my wife
I am getting the 416 bug again .My 416 rem mags all 4 are awesome but i think these rugers are a good investments .I hate to get another caliber but i was going to have a old ruger 77 tang safety my favorite safety fast as a doublle barrel built .My 416s have become too valuable to be boat guns and i wanted a 416 ruger so which rifle would you choose for investment and Alaska hunting ? The ammo for 416 tem mag is finally made again glad to see that ..I keep thinking of a fiberglsss stock for my winchester model 70 416 also .

Yes Alaaka can ruin a blued rifle quicker than you think .My 454 ruger rehawk finsih is the best one for alaska I know of just needs to be on a rifle .I have a kevlar stainless stock rem 700 in 416 rrm mag added a bdl floorplate and weathetby mag spring and extreme rifle works muzzlebreak .Its the perfect rifle except not what i want to take in a raft or shakey boat .I think the stainless 416 ruger hawkeye is very close just hate that butt ugly stock plus it does not fit me .I didnt see a single 416 ruger in Alaska last 5 months i was there lots of 375 rugers the actions on those were really rough .I do think the 416 ruger will take over the 416 rem mag in popularity .I usually shoot my 416s with reduced 2400 fps loads with 350 grain bullets to pratice alot .I am glad to see alot more 416 shooters on here !

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.
