ASKING EVERYONE TO CHOOSE WHICH MUZZLE BRAKE YOU WOULD PUT ON A 416 REM MAG RIFLE AND GIVE YOUR REASONING IF POSSIBLE:

I know the functions for what muzzle brakes do.
Can be used to reduce the muzzle flash and/or to help in reducing the recoil of the gun.

I have seen a few videos of the 416 Rem Mag and other big bore rifles being shot.
The recoil can be like a swift kick from a mule and the pressure blast can stir up enough debris to make ya think a micro storm came through.

Since this rifle isn't for hunting big game in Africa, isn't for hunting big game here in the states, isn't for competition shooting, and isn't for long-distance shooting but is for having fun with friends n family in the backyard and for making some noise in the neighborhood for those people sleeping too long into the late hours of the morning lol ......
........and so so I'm not trying to be critical of obtaining the 'perfect' muzzle brake. My main objective is to balance looks with function ... try to use a muzzle brake that directs a large amount of pressure out the sides of the brake in order to help reduce the recoil, and yet have the brake looking a nicely as possible on the charcoal-colored stock that will have a polished stainless steel barrel.

Since Shaw Custom Barrels wont have my barrel finished for a few weeks, I had posting (before the muzzle brakes) a picture of someone else's Savage 110 with Accustock and stainless barrel to help in picturing each muzzle brake on the gun

NOTE: I am trying to find muzzle brakes that are made for nothing smaller than .308 - .338 caliber. Many of these muzzle brakes have enough material surrounding the bore that I can drill out the size to what's required for the .416 caliber

This is just a stock photo to use as a basic reference for comparing which muzzle brake to use on it. My gun will have the polished stainless barrel but it actually has a black receiver with jeweled chrome bolt and a black bolt handle.

Get a simple round muzzle brake that is close to barrel diameter. The tactical ones aren’t necessary.

Since you are drilling it out to a larger diameter, start with a brake with small holes. You can enlarge them as well. I don’t like brakes that direct blast back toward me. Find one with holes perpendicular to the bore and the shock wave won’t smack you in the face.

Or one that vents them forward. It may not reduce recoil quite as much but will be much more pleasant in terms of noise and shock wave.

UPDATE: APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS HAS PAST SINCE LAST POST ON HERE

Yesterday I got the notification that the 416 Rem Mag polished stainless barrel is completed and I also received the UPS tracking number

Shaw Custom Barrels is located a mere 45 minutes from me and so the tracking is showing that it's out for delivery tomorrow !
I'm definitely excited and especially since we been getting quite a bit of rain and so will be stuck in the house for a couple more days!

After the barrel is delivered and then doing the basics of making sure the 416 cartridge seems to be properly chambering, I will be taking the gun and barrel to my local gunsmith for him to attach the barrel and do the head spacing.
Will also see if he can do any modifications to the 338 Lapua magazine. Previously I had discussed the good, but definitely not great, outcomes of having chose to try the ACIS 338 Lapua magazine since it was looking like my best and probably only likely available option that would be able to accept the 416 Rem Mag cartridge.
Upon initial testing of the Accurate Mag bottom metal and AICS 338 Lapua magazine (without having the barrel yet) the bolt seemed to do pretty good at catching the base of the 416 Rem Mag cartridge in the magazine, sliding the cartridge forward, and the magazine's feed lips and follower guiding it toward the chamber. However, I immediately notice a problem after filling the magazine with all 3 cartridges. The top cartridge was then getting catawampus and not wanting to cooperate.

Well, if all goes good, I should be able to test fire the Savage 110 416 Rem Mag with in a couple weeks depending on how busy my gunsmith is, and I might even do a youtube video

I wouldn't put a muzzlebrake on... I also wouldn't build anything on a Savage action... money pit from the start. However, I support anyone messing around with firearms... good luck with your project.
