404 Jeffery Wanted

Not much in this post, so I’ll throw out a solution. I found three for sale on Gunbroker. Good luck.

What is you budget and timeline? Perhaps an introduction might loosen lips. They are available. Are you planning to take to Africa or just collect?

What a little bit of searching can provide: :D

I’m planning on going to safari guide school in Botswana. Looking to be a horseback safari guide once I get my hours in. An introduction on my bio?
Thanks

I’m thinking around $3000 for a functional rifle without a lot fancy additions.

What’s the market price currently for them used prices? A 375 H&H is fine too. But I like the versatility of the 404 if I want to load my own rounds. What do you recommend. I’m live in a world of 308,270 and I just got a 300 mag a couple years ago . Thanks

Personally, I’d be looking for a Winchester Model 70 “Super Express” in .416 Remington Magnum - one of the New Haven, CRF ones in 100% unaltered, factory condition and the more beat up the better.

"Safari guide school" as in a PH or Professional Hunter? Guide has a different connotation in Africa than it does stateside.

As a previous poster stated, you will have a hard time finding a .404 for $3000. I have $3200 in mine but it is a RSM .375 conversion I had done nearly 6 years ago. It's not for sale but if it were I wouldn't take any less than $4000 to $4500 without the scope.

You can’t bring your gun to Botswana . You will have to buy one there.

They have schools for safari guide non hunting safaris for tourists but I’m interested in the horseback safaris only.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
