36 inch Sable

Here is a picture of one of the bulls he has on the property

Me thinks he will look nice on the wall!!

Just don't fall off the Boma walls when you are shooting! :)

I hope this is a picture from transfer day and they are out running around in a huge area and make you work hard to get him.

Brickburn, yes indeed. The picture was taken by the breeder who sold them to the outfitter. The breeder sent the pictures to see if my outfitter was interested in buying them. He bought three bulls and sent me a picture of all 3 yesterday. One of them is really old and has lost his tips, the other one does not have a symetrical arch to his horns. This one was the best - symetrical with nice tips. As I said in the initial post, I had called him a few days ago to discuss something else when he threw this opportunity at me. I have spoken to him every day since then and he told yesterday he has seen at least one of them each day. He said in the 8 days I would be there we would most likely find them but they were not tied to a tree. The outfitter has over 5,000 acres so I hope he is right.

Hopefully I'll post a picture of one of them when I get back at the end of April.

I'd be very happy with a 36" sable.

These were taken last season. We had ten sable taken ranging from 36"-46"
The bull on the top is approx. 36" and the one on the bottom is just under 46"
The 36" was one of the oldest bulls on the concession and its horns were somewhat worn.

That gives you a great idea about the size difference.
Very nice!

Don't think you can get a better comparison than that. That top one is old, just look how worn the tips are.

Wow!!! Perfect pictures and exactly what I was hoping to get when I posted this thread. Thank you!!!!

The price from the outfitter is just too good to pass up and I will be one of the first ones in camp so I will get to pick from all 3. Wish I was leaving tomorrow.

Thanks again to all who posted.

Nice pics to compare. I am for "trophies on my wall", but if I would have the chance to shoot a bull old like this in the first pic I would take him, old old, character, selfhiding for years... a unique trophy. For sure, all depending on situation...

These are the three bulls he has available. One is is an OLD guy with worn off tips (middle), one has a non-symetrical arch to his horns (right), and one is more of a classic (left).

Which one would you guys choose?

That one was easy for me:)
I would choose the old guy without a doubt.

take the old one.

Picture 2 looks like the oldest one. Should be a great hunt!

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
