I bought the rifle with the intention of building a custom rifle back in the 90’s and had a gunsmith in Laporte, Tx remove the stock barrel, open up the bolt face for a 257 Wby along with truing up the action. I picked the Argentina action back then after reading an article about it being the smoothest of the Mauser. As usual when younger, life can get in the way of completing your fun goals and this has set in a box in my closet since then. I’m asking $750.00 shipped to your FFL , from me in the lower 48 states where legal.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
