    Wanted 3-9 Scopes

Isn’t that what we are supposed to do. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. Lol! Looks to me like a Burris, crossfire, or diamondback, I have never been a vortex fan. Would they be good enough?

    Wanted 3-9 Scopes

A bit to pricey. Trying to be at around $200. I don’t know if these people will even stick with it. Trying to give them something to do to get them outside, and give them something to look forward to to keep them out of trouble.

    Wanted 3-9 Scopes

I am setting up a couple rifles for some people I am trying to get started hunting. Looking for a good scope at a reasonable price. I was thinking a used Leupold VX2. But would like to try to stick with new if I can. What do you guys think would be a good scope to look at?

    Unwanted ammo

I was cleaning under my shooting bench and found some ammo that over the years had roles off and gotten underneath. Most of it probably could be cleaned up and fired, it would just be a waste of time as I have no idea what is in them. Is there a way to destroy unwanted ammo? Thanks.

    Sauer 9.3x62

Yes I have a couple McMilans and some MPIs and I love them. But I have never kept a factory synthetic stock. I can’t even bring myself to sell them. They go in the trash. Remington ADLs are horrible. I look at it as a barreled action.

    Sauer rifles

Those of you with experience with Sauer rifles, what have you found to be the good, the bad, and the ugly about them? The gun stores in my area don’t carry Sauer so if I would like to go that route what would be the best way to get hooked up with one? Any insight would be appreciated.

What is the dumbest thing you ever did to damage a brand new gun?

Some friends had left their stuff in my pickup as we were going coyote hunting very early in the morning. I took the rifles in overnight, I had a narrow garage at the time. Loading up in the dark in the morning I laid the rifles over the tailgate in cases so I could back out and open my door all...

    Looking for 9.3x62

I found a barrel so back to my build. I was going to use a old Rem. 700 as a donor action. But after looking at my rifles I am having a hard time chopping one up. What would be the best 700 copy cat action for the money to build my 9.3 on?

    Cutting Edge Bullets

Shooting a deer with that 100 grainer is like shooting a fox with a 17 rem. It has to have spectacular results. I am going to have to try that. Thanks.

    Cutting Edge Bullets

Do you get similar velocity from the cutting edge bullets. A 100 gr out of a 300 Win. Would be screaming. A 130 would probably be in the neighborhood of 34-3500?

    Looking for 9.3x62

Starting a 35 Whelen and a 9.3x62 build. Smith that I work with said he thought he could fit me one of them in by mid November. He let me know today that it doesn’t look like barrels will be here in time. So I’m looking to see what is out there, maybe I can buy one, never hurt anyone to have to...

    9.3x62 barrel contour

I’m probably getting to be a pain in the rear with all my questions the last couple days, but I’m kind of in new territory on the 35 Whelen and 9.3x62. Most of my guns are a bit speedier. Ex. 17rem, 243, 270, 300Win, 375RUM, and Rigby that I have loaded to Weatherby velocity. Yeah, before you...

    Deer Hunting With Shotgun

I’ll agree that a 12 gauge is over kill. The only real reason to use one is you have one. A 20 gauge hole will definitely do the job. But I also have never seen meat damage unless the deer is a pin cushion with a bunch of holes. A slug just goes on through meet and clean.

    Building a 9.3 instead of a 35 Whelen

    Building a 9.3 instead of a 35 Whelen

I’ll quote a rancher I used to talk to “ferrr as the eye ken see” by the way he was talking about the size of his ranch when I asked were his boundaries were. Lol The plan is to be a professional backup gun. May be for coyotes, whitetail, could be for eland, or buff. In other words a “fun...

Looking for Winchester Model 70 .375 HH

There is one at my local Scheels. I looked at it. Looks to have only fired a few shoots. The feed ramp is the only way I can tell it has been shot. And there is hardly a scratch on that If you are interested I can get you some info. Or give you more details. I can probably get you some photos.

    Building a 9.3 instead of a 35 Whelen

I was working on building a 35 Whelen, for hunting here in here in the States. But after a bit of looking see the 9.3x62 is so similar. Then I would have a good backup DG rifle for the wife. I was wondering if anyone makes a bullet lighter than 250 for the 9.3 to use in the States for deer. I...

    1st rifle for grandson

I would definitely look at the 308. Cheap ammo on every shelf anywhere that sells ammo. I would shoot any animal up to moose or eland with the Barnes 130 gr TTSX. It has noticeable less recoil than 150s and shoots flat enough to aim at the vitals to as far as most of us should shoot. I like...

    Best barrels?

I’ll start by saying, I’m a hunter, I like accurate rifles but they don’t have to drive tacks. In the past I just let my smith pick the brand of barrel I use based on if he thinks it is a good barrel and availability. Of the better known brands is there really any difference in quality? If so...

    I’m really Dumb!

I’ve done lots of dumb things in this life, but today I did one right up at the top of the pile. I wanted to get a rifle in the truck because the crops are starting to come out and we will start seeing some coyotes and coons and such. So I grabbed a 30-06 out of the rack and thought I would...

    35 Whelen

I will be using it in Iowa to hunt deer. Background is Iowa was a shotgun only state. But has changed the rules several times now. The newest rule is the rifle needs to be at least a 35 cal. And have at least 500 ft. Lbs. to be legal. I think the 35 Whelen would be the ideal to fit the bill.

    35 Whelen

    35 Caliber 180 TSX

It seems generally that the slower cartridges have larger openings then slower. I don’t know how they decide what that looks like when it is sold as a bullet. But it is a generalization.

    130 gr 308

    130 gr 308

  42. J

    130 gr 308

I have to re-barrel a rem 700 243. I think I am going to change it to a 308. If I would like to shoot the 130 gr Barnes TTSX what twist would be best? Any input would be appreciated.
