    Barnes Banded Solid

I highly value your knowledge and friendship! You are a very intelligent and generous man. I am a revolver shooter therefore 1,400 to 1,500 FPS is top velocity. As such we don't have 2000+ FPS velocity which in itself can cause increased trauma to vital organs. Therefore we give up a bit of...

    Barnes Banded Solid

As a handgun hunter my experience has shown that round nose bullets leave holes that do not bleed as well as the holes from flat point bullets.

    need new load

H-4350 was my go to powder in the 30-06 with 165/168 grain bullets. I have since switched to Ramshot Hunter. Hunter will push 168 gr. TTSX bullets to 2950 FPS and 1/2 MOA at 200 yards

    Hammer Bullets

Hammer bullets are very accurate and about any load is accurate. I have loaded 300 gr. Hammers in my 416 Rem for 3001 FPS over 2000MR

    Hammer Bullets

I know of 2 individuals that used the 404 gr. Shock Hammer on buffalo. 1 loaded his to 2400+ FPS & other 1 loaded his to 2500+ FPS. They both hit big mature Cape Buffalo in the shoulder both exited and obliterated the heart both buffalo moved more than a few steps and were done.

Load Data For .375 H&H (P.O. Ackley Improved)

If both are loaded to the same pressure there is only about 40 FPS difference between them. The 280AI is SAAMI'ed about 5,000 PSI higher than the 280 Remington. I'm getting 3132 FPS with 140 TTSX. I used 270 Winchester 130 gr. data since they are about equal in SD.

    Magpro

Magpro is an excellent slow burn spherical powder that produces outstanding velocity in such cartridges as the 270 Winchester and the 280 Remington and 300 Win mag. These are the 3 cartridges that I have tried with Magpro so for. 24" barrel 300 win, 180 gr. TTSX 85.7 gr. 3154 FPS, the same load...

    35 Whelen vs 9.3x62

    35 Whelen load data

Not sure why you thank that a 25" barrel which is what Bob Nelson 35 Whelen has is longer than my 28" barrel. Also Bob Nelson 35 Whelen is getting 2690 or so FPS and I am getting 2731 FPS. If you are looking at the spread sheet of the pressure tests the rifle used for pressure testing was a...

    35 Whelen load data

The Hornady bras that I have and the Remington 30-06 sized to 35 Whelen hold the same amount of powder when filled to the top of the case mouth, 73.4 grains. Federal holds 1 grain less. Something to keep in mind.

250 Partition 35 Whelen Bob Nelson 35 Whelen

Speer data shows 64.1 grains CFE223 behind 250 grain bullet for 2664 FPS. I'm at 65 grains with 4" more barrel length. At 15 FPS per inch added to 60+2664=2724 FPS and I'm at 2731 FPS. That doesn't seem out of line to me
  33. J

250 Partition 35 Whelen Bob Nelson 35 Whelen

Has to be the light because I don't see that when I look at the case. Primer indent looks the same as a factory load in this rifle. I can't see pressure jumping from a 5 shot average of 53,700 PSI at 64 grains to being over pressure at 65 grains.

250 Partition 35 Whelen Bob Nelson 35 Whelen

    Barnes bullets in.30-06

Unless you hit bone on the way through then exits in the hide are small. This doesn't mean they aren't expanding, pay attention to the internal damage, in my experience it looks like a blender went through them.
