In memoriam - French Professional Hunter Christophe Morio passes RIP

Condolences to his family. May he RIP...

Unassuming, humble and generous with his time and knowledge.
Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

R.I.P.

I saw the report this morning from Congo Forest Safaris about Christophe passing. I really wanted to hunt with him and had booked a bongo hunt several years ago specifically to hunt with him. As it turned out, he left Congo Forest Safaris over a year ago and I ended up cancelling my hunt due to my wife’s extended illness, so I never got to hunt with him.

Everything I ever heard about Christophe was that he was an outstanding man, not just one of Africa’s great PH’s. We messaged back and forth a bit and he told me he was taking a break from hunting the forest due to health issues and I’d heard elsewhere that he was having heart problems. Word is that he suffered a stroke which took his life. Condolences to his wife and family, I hope he’s enjoying heaven’s game fields.

Wow, I’m in shock. I had texted with him in late July about a safari with him in Chad. He told me as an American hunter, I could not get a visa at this time but he would let me know if that changed. I also asked for his recommendation on an area for forest sitatunga in Cameroon and Congo. He recommended PH Yannick Exalto with Mayo Oldiri. We discussed his eleven years in the CAR and my safari there with Jacques Lemaux. Hard to believe he is gone. God Bless him. He made a lot of dreams come true for clients.

Just heard & read that @Christophe Morio has passed away on suffering a heart attack.

Very sad news & a great loss to the hunting community.

His experience & knowledge of west Africa & especially bongo was exceptional. As was his photography.

Very sad.

Truly a legend. RIP. Condolences to the family.

What a shock. I had known Christophe for several years and we always talked of making a Safari together but the calendars never aligned. Rest in Peace my friend.

Noah,
I might be interested in the 470 Woodleigh Softs if the price is right for the entire lot. Are you planning on going to the Tulsa Gunshow in November? If so, perhaps we could meet up.
