This is what I use also.I have a few of Plano cases very similar. Even custom fit a couple of them for larger caliber cartridges. View attachment 795742View attachment 795743
I know it's been dicussed before but could anyone recommend a ammo box to use for locking your ammo for air travel. I will be flying Delta.
Thanks
Depends. Domestic flights in SA they want them separate, and once I was on an international Ethiopian Airways flight that also insisted it should be separate. So I would say: be prepared for it to be separate. All these boxes for ammo….are they checked as a regular luggage bag? Or are they inside your suitcase your clothing is in?

And regardless of laws, rules, etc be prepared to do it otherwise if the ground staff decided so, so also always bring padlocks for your ammo boxes..Be prepared and read up on the laws and airline rules applicable to your trip.
This. Then I use it for my Garmin chronograph when I'm home.Harbor Freight (this is the one I use)
Hate to be part of the me too movement, but…DITTO
Remind us what rifle or rifles you are bringing and how many rounds for each.I know it's been dicussed before but could anyone recommend a ammo box to use for locking your ammo for air travel. I will be flying Delta.

Have you ever checked it in separately as luggage? Seems it would get destroyed. This is the lightest/highest volume lockable case I have found… two of us used these in June and they worked great!
The Pelican 1200 would work perfectly allowing room to fit at least 4-boxes of ammo in factory Hornady and Barnes boxes or plastic MTM cases. Some factory boxes like Federal have a bunch of dead-air space and awkward dimensions for packing.I will be bringing a 470 N.E. or a 450 N.E. double rifle and a 375 H&H bolt gun. So looks like the pelican 1200 is a good choice for me.
Did that travel inside checked your luggage on the trip over to RSA, or was it checked as a separate item? This is the lightest/highest volume lockable case I have found… two of us used these in June and they worked great!
