Buyer Beware Of Whitworth Arms LLC/doublegunhq

again, our GI ads state clearly "please do not ask for more pics" ... so again, don't be surprised when I decline to provide "more pics".

He's definitely not making it better on himself. And since this thread started in 2021 I don't think he's going to change his stripes.

I see this a lot in sales when people that ought not to be in that vocation land there.

It’s not a dig on anyone in particular, it’s just that not everyone is cut out for sales.

I find to be really good at sales, you have to genuinely like the people that call upon you and you have to genuinely like the product you represent. I’m not a professional sales person, but even with my weak sales skills, I really enjoy speaking with passionate people that have similar interests. I also like a clear conscience, so I tell people ten reasons that what I have might not be right for them and I critically scrutinize my “merch” explaining its every imperfection in great detail.

The net result of trying to honestly “chill” the sale is that people see me as transparent and they often realize my critique of the item is far crueler than theirs. Instead of thinking someone is getting one over on them, they feel like they are fully informed and fully in charge of the transaction, which they 100% are.

I have an acquaintance that has a lot of nice guns in his disgusting, filthy gun shop. He has zero pride in the items, is absolutely ignorant to what they are, mistreats them horribly, and asks insane and arbitrary prices for every item that are 3x-20x of what they are worth. He’d never give close up photos of the items and he can’t explain anything about an item he wants $50k for that is worth 15k. His idea is that eventually a rich sucker that knows nothing will grant him a home run.

I on the other hand try to live life getting a hit, a bunt, or a walk every day of my life. I’m content with a .950 batting average and having never hit a double. It builds trust and good will, I get invited to opportunities all the time and people have been incredibly square dealers with me at every turn. Life is reciprocal if you don’t make it transactional.

Who is the axxhole now Mr Oulette?

And btw I note you are a prolific seller of firearms that are not clearly your long-term owned personal firearms on this forum As is Logan, who would have us all believe that he was willing to pay the "reasonable" price of $795 for the barreled action in question, and then "discard" the barrel and probably the stock since he was really only interested in the action. Do either of you fine esteemed pure gentlemen hold an FFL? I wonder if anyone from the ATF reads this post?

Russ Gould,

I politely answer questions sent via direct messages. I often invite phone conversations which I am told most if not all enjoy. A DM seperates tire kickers with nothing better to do from interested persons. I highly recommend you try it! :) I also provide additional photos if the 23 clear photos posted do not show a part of the gun a potential buyer wants to see. Further I have upon request sent the high resolution photos via email so the receiver could blow them up for examination.

Perhaps you could you use a photography lesson of how to clearly show products you have for sale?

If I made a profit from selling guns I collect, try out, then pass on to the next caretaker for what I have into them, I'd get an FFL. You won't see me buy a gun for $3,000 and sell it in a month or two for $5000. Heck, I more than sometimes sell at a loss to fund my next firearm purchase. I do have a FFL Type III C&R for most of my collecting. It wasn't long ago that the BATF&E would not issue a Type I FFL to someone like me who collects firearms. Nevertheless, they know where to find me as I do not hide behind an Internet moniker.

I can certainly be an axxhole, but I try not to be. You seem to be unable not to.

Answer: Still you, @vh2q , and keeping it consistent as this thread already established.

If I needed to pick sides, all I know is that @Mark A Ouellette has been kind, thoughtful, transparent, and frequent on this forum for years. I’ve never seen him acting in a vulgar manner and I’ve enjoyed getting phone calls from him “just to check in” even though we’ve never met in person. I’m sure many others have had similar experiences.

So when someone else starts throwing stones here that has zero positive track record on the forum, it isn’t very hard to fact find what is the “truth”.

@vh2q you are the Axxhole if I say so myself. I tried to get information on a firearm from you and was never treated so rudely in my life. @Mark A Ouellette is a well respected member of this forum and a wealth of knowledge. I have had many a pleasant conversation with him and dealings. You, sir, on the other hand and your company will never see a dime of my money the way you treated me on the phone!

At this point, I feel the need to block someone who is arguing about an opinion. Yes, it is an opinion directly targeted towards his personality and his business.
Any further comment is unnecessary to me.
Therefore I am blocking him.

Well, no publicity is bad publicity. This thread got me to look at the doublegunhq listings on GI. Even found a shotgun I’d be interested in…3 whole pics.

Same here . Fair prices and no BS . Thanks for the “controversy”

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
