Anyone have or had a Hartmann & Weiss rifle ? Or is it a name that is know outside of Germany?

Am looking at one in .300 H&H from 1998, a super fine rifle & one that I would love to pull the trigger on so to speak!

I personally believe they make the finest rifles in the world.

Absolutely top of the line. Perhaps the best custom riflemaker on the planet. If you have a chance to buy a Hartmann & Weiss at a solid price, don't hesitate -- go for it.

If you don't pull the trigger on it, someone else will, believe it! They are ALPHA status.
Be sure to show us beautiful picture and contact info so we can snatch it out from under you, lol.

Finest bolt rifles I ever handeled

After a a late Norwegian gunwriter tested a single shot rifle from , he wrote :»They builds guns like H&H should have and at considerable lower pricing «.

If you can get it at a reasonable price do not hesitate. I’ve seen no rifle finer than by Mr Hartmann & Mr Weiss

I had a chance to buy one at VERY good price! I passed on it and have regretted it ever since.

Thank you all so far - I feared that the feedback & comments would be something like this ......

Had told myself that I am through buying guns & then this happened along!

Watch this space ......

As others have mentioned, pound for pound they are the best rifles made. Attaching a picture of my 505 Gibbs for you to see, it feels and handles even better than it looks

Magnificent rifles and shotguns . Now only in Hamburg . The London part of the business was Peter Nelson . He subsequently went out on his own and all his production was sold to a handful of collectors . He mainly did shotguns . Probably the most sought after guns of all . H&W also used to supply actions to custom gun makers but I’m not sure if they still do .

That's so pretty I almost wish I hadn't seen it! If that makes sense....

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
