Post two of your favorite African hunting pictures

First, and doubtless not last, giraffe. Very challenging stalk.

Second nyala. A bit better than first one taken in 2021. I wanted backskin but turns out this bull's hide was a mess end to end. But a fine set of horns.

Fifth and best impala. Heck of a spread on this one. I saw an even better ram after nyala was in the truck. Had to pass as we already had a load (buffalo + nyala) and a long ways to drive on a terrible rough road. He will hopefully still be around next year, alrhough finding him again on 167K acres might be a challenge. :D

Fine animals! Really like the impala
 
Here are two pictures of the best trophy I took home from Africa. Sometimes you have to go along way, but when you find peace, it's worth it.

These pictures are from 2012, my first safari in Limpopo. A dream come true, that I thought I would never see become reality.

The first picture is of the Kudu my wife spotted. We had hunted Kudu for three days straight without any luck. She spotted it and was almost yelling from excitement, Kudu, Kudu, Kudu, and the PH or I had spotted it, until she pointed it out. We jumped off the LC, sticks went up and we had our Kudu.

This picture is of our last evening in the bush. We had all our animals, we didn't want to just sit around the lodge, so into the bush we went, and had a magnificent time.

Just two pics!

I have 3 daughters and they each amazed me for different reasons. But these two pics stand out.

Going to South Africa she wanted something with cool horns, mission accomplished. Stalked this nuisance wildebeest before and after lunch and finally got a shot off right at sun set.

This hunter was looking for a black gazelle when this bull kudu said how about me.

After making a bad shot the previous morning, and chasing him around for the remainder of the day, I finally got another shot the next day. Not the longest or biggest, but the relief of getting him on the ground after a bad shot, and all the chasing and the hard stalk to finally get him made it very memorable

My dads Sable. Since his first trip back in 2004, he has always mentioned regretting not taking one. Returning the favor and taking him back in 2025, he got the opportunity and was happy as a clam. I think I was more excited about him getting his Sable than any of the animals I took.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
