Gorgeous!Picked up a zg 47 in 8x64s.
Gorgeous Grail gunI have a beautiful mauser 98 in 8x64s. Butterknife bolt handle, octagonal to round barrel and a nice stock that once belonged to the emperor of Ethiopia. It was originally a 7x64 and this is not the stock it came with. the scope is not original to the rifle and is a pain to take on and off. But she is beautiful and a thumper!
7x64/8x64/8-06 are one case family, 9x64 is an entirely different breed.Yes, I'm trying to work out if there's any advantage in the 8x64 over my 8-06 Imp. or do I use the 9.3x64 case and neck it down....

I just found an identical thread by Sestoppelman...
Aware, but this is not the 8x 64IS, It is called the Mazon to avoid confusion. There was a thread here about someone having the reamer and loaning it to another group member.I looked it up
There is a 8x64 on the 9,3x64 case necked down .
This one .

There's heaps of info on the forum about the 8x64. From memory it was the late Bruce Moulds favourite rifle..
Our Nick Harvey loved the cartridge as well.
You have 3 choices in the same power range. The 325WSM, 8X64 and 8mm REM mag.
Why not just buy a 325WSM that way if you can't find brass just neck up some 300wsm and your fine.
8x64 cases are hard to find in Australia and when you can they ain't cheap. You can make 8mm REM mags out of cheap 375 brass as well.
A mate has a BLR in 325 he uses in camel and swears by it.

All Bruce’s stuff is long gone, I was looking at one of his BP rifles but the person handling it sold it to a "mate"I think Bruce had the 9.3x64.
Apparently he had many rifles in various chamberings over time but still had the 9.3x64
I remember that because we spoke about a number of of things in Hahndorf and I referred to the 9.3x62 and he said no mine is by 64
After he passed away it was offered for sale for $1000 but I think it would have sold years ago.
