On a quasi anti-hunting wildlife site, I read that a hunter in Zimbabwe killed a 111Kg Leopard.
There was a short video clip of it on a scale, but no further details

Have any of you heard of this?

That would be the biggest leopard killed anywhere in a long time

It was taken in Zim, indeed. The PH/Houndsman was Adrian Salter of Adroda Safaris. Adrian sent me the video the day he caught the cat. It was caught in a communal area. I was actually offered the hunt and turned it down due to having committed to my moose hunt.

Very proud that it was Adrian and his hounds that caught this giant.

Wow. What a beast! Whoever does the taxidermy is going to be augmenting the form quite a bit. :)
Exactly - that is one great big old cat!

From the time the hounds were released to the time they barked “treed” was <15 minutes. Adrian told me that running was, apparently, not part of the cat’s repertoire! Lol!
Adrian cut the tracks off bait on a drug road.

This cat had been killing sheep/goats/calves presumably, for years. This is an excellent example of targeting one specific animal with hounds bred and built for the hunt and swiftly treeing and helping a community out by harvesting a remarkable trophy tom.

Well Done!

Was the hunt filmed? Or other parts of the day? Would love to see that.
I have the videos of the official weighings. They can also be viewed on Adrian’s I-gram pages. This was a private offer “buddy hunt” to my knowledge, there was no videographer other than officially weighing him.

It is absolutely stunning.

The other still photo I have is of the hunter with the cat and I’ll not post it. It’s his cat and his memory. Im sharing straight scoop for this thread. I’m just proud to know and have hunted with the houndsman that helped him.

The area it was taken was a “western” Zimbabwe community.

Bruce Watson had a client kill the biggest leopard in Zimbabwe a few years back....200 odd pounds as I remember. This one is bigger that anything I have even imagined! Congrats

WOW!!! :D Cheers:

I also rec;d the same info as BetterintehBrush by a PH I hunted leopard with in Zim last year. It does indeed appear to all be legit.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
