I've been looking for another quality .375 for awhile as it is my favorite caliber for Africa. Some of my favorite Africa hunts have been when I brought one rifle and that is usually a 375. I have a Sako .375 and a Blaser R8 .375 and both are great guns but lack that custom feel. I've talked to ParkWest about building one, which is a good option. My all time favorite African rifle is my Dakota .416 Rigby and I wanted to get something of that quality or better in 375.

I haven't had a custom .375 since selling the excellent ZKK 602 that @bwanamrm sold me years ago. It was later sold to another forum member who has used it a good amount in Africa. That was an awesome rifle pictured here...

Congrads on the purchase of that gorgeous action...It is a beauty and when I saw it I knew it was worthy of more than I could add with the custom stock it deserves. Wish I could add something significant.

Here are the photos from the classified to give us a starting point. Obviously the bulk of the barreled action is completed and at a very high skill level. It reminded me of the Champlin octagon integral barrel guns I owned previously in 375 and 458. Yes, they should have been kept but here we are.

Not to be flop but I’m not sure what the question is. It seems very straight forward to me.

Put a great stock on it (I tend to like straighter grain than most). Maybe engrave the grip cap or have an inlay on the fore end.

Put good optics on it and there you go.

The hard work has already been done with the metal you bought.
 
Part of my purpose in posting this topic is to enlist help and ideas but also just to share in the build. I enjoy watching others projects come to life. We are going to build in a pre-war Germanic style similar to @rookhawk's 9.3 and his is super classy...pictured below...

One of the things I'm looking for is the recently discontinued Swarovski 3-9x36 in the 1" tube version. If anyone knows of one that is available, please let me know.
 
I'm narrowing down who I would like to finish the gun and build the stock. I called JJ but his current equipment setup is most conducive to break action builds. He is definitely available to build the mounts and rings if needed. When I teased him about retiring to do more fishing he said tell the guys that with this economy I will have to keep working for a long time!

After discussing some options with @rookhawk, I'm going to reach out to NECG and get a sense of their pricing and backlog. I would love to use this next season in Africa but that's less than a year out. I plan on having the seller ship directly to whoever will be working on this.
 
When I first saw this gorgeous thing, my first thought was the bluing. To me, a deep, onyx like bluing is the most classic. Like black glass. I'm no expert on walnut, so I will defer my opinion on that to my more learned brethren. I do have an affinity to a few well done case hardened accouterments, however! Thanks for sharing!!!
 
I've sent photos to NECG to see what they think about finishing it. I would like to see if we could finish it with the English style of red alkanet root stain.

I hadn't thought of Matthew at MNR Custom. Griffin & Howe could be another option as @bwanamrm suggested.
 
That is going to turn out nice.

Consider a German style cheekpiece. This is from my RF Sedgley Custom on an Oberdorf action from the 1950’s. The second picture is from an Mauser B.

That's the 2nd recommendation for MNR. I just sent him an enquiry on it.
 
Some highly skilled gunsmith there, but if I have to go with best out of the best I will go across the pond to Bill Blacker and Paul Chell for rust bluing should you like one.

Stephane Dupille and Gary Canes for stocks. Cumbersome process for sure but just wanted to mention ...
