Community Designed AH Hunting Knife

Don’t feel rushed or pressured for speed of production. Many times custom builders grow then get overwhelmed. Then the process gets changed. Employees added. Etc etc.

Quality slips and with it the early hard earned reputation for quality. Better to set expectations for delivery times and keep the quality long term.
 
Alas, mine is stuck in Memphis awaiting Customs clearance. Or, that’s what FedEx is saying.

Thanks. That's what I'm trying so hard to not do, let quality slip. I would rather apologize for a delay than an issue with my work.

But I do like to keep everyone appraised as well. Better I inform you, than you chase me
 
My knife arrived today and I couldn’t be happier! The Customs folks in Memphis sat on it for 2 weeks, but once I paid the duty invoice that FedEx sent me, it took just 3 days from Memphis to my door.

The knife is a beauty! I hope to use it in Africa next year!

Ok Ross…..what’s up next? I humbly suggest an AH-themed scimitar-shaped skinner. Warthog handle. Optional Damascus.

Awesome! Glad its there.

I do not understand how the tariff and imports are working. Some guys are paying nothing, some only $19, some $50, and some one even got hit for $90!!!

And there's no rhyme or reason to it. Seems someone just decides on the day

Its extremely frustrating

That could be a good option. If there were enough interested I would be open to a VERY limited run of damascus knives.

Unfortunately will have to stay away from warthog for the moment for shipping reasons. Customs your side has become militant about wildlife products. If your in visiting my neck of the woods however, nothing wrong with you taking it home in your suitecase!

Update time.

All of the knives are now finished and I just had them picked up for delivery. Everyone should either already have or will shortly get an email with a tracking number.

Thanks so much everyone for the support and patience with these knives. You all helped me and the Mrs survive another couple of months in this crazy world!

Got my knife today! Beautiful work. No. # AH-20, is that the last one? Thanks for inscribing "Zimbabwe" on the blade. When one of my kids inherits this knife he will know where is was made. Very happy customer.

Mine delivered today, less than an hour after I left for the airport. Haha. I will be back Friday evening and will finally lay hands on it then. Thankfully, I wasn't charged any customs, it actually moved through the incoming airport rapidly. I've had packages sit in customs for weeks before, so it was nice that this one moved so fast.
 
I have been tracking mine since the label was created in Harare on the 14th. It had a short layover in Dubai, and now is in France.... On its way....
