SOUTH AFRICA: African Wild Safaris Hunt Report

Finally getting this buffalo was a huge relief and cause for celebration. It's been 48 years since I shot my first deer and the buffalo is my greatest big game trophy. To get him with Francois was icing on the cake. I need to give a huge shout out to Wihan the video guy. He does a great job with filming and editing and he does break and run when things get western. We tried our best to celebrate but it didn't last past 9 pm.

There were more days left to hunt.
 
The next day we went after plains game and sat a water hole in the heat of the afternoon and this nice Eland showed up. I had swapped guns with my buddy Clay. He decided to go for buffalo and took my 375 Ruger and I took his 7PRC. It was more than adequate on a large antelope. I also got Africa's version of a coyote (Jackel) and being from western KS I can't resist a coyote hunt.

Thank you Sir, for sharing, been there and one some and this is so fun to read and watch. And some great animals. Holy cow. good shooting. And videos opened for me, and if anyone sucks at IT stuff it would be me. What a fun ride so far.
 
The forward flip on the horn tips of the kudu are phenomenal!

Just last month Glenn was talking about concessions in Zim that he had made an offer on. Not just one or two areas, but huge chunks, all or nothing. If he ends up with those huge blocks, I want to be on the wait list to hunt there, and I want to be UP NEAR THE TOP!

Any word on that, or was it discussed?
 
Skydiver, it was discussed a lot. I believe his offer was accepted but still waiting on details. I too want on that list! Fortunately for them, they are booked solid next year, that means we can't go back until 2028, unless these new areas open up some slots.
