I was thinking about this yesterday. Outside temp in the shade is 100F this weekend. Inside cart storage is 76F. Do you let your carts all come to range ambient temp before you start shooting?

I thought about putting them in a cooler bag with an ice pack to stay cool. But, I'm thinking of trying the NRL Factory class competition next year and there are shoots in all kinds of temps so I let them come up to the outside temp then started to shoot. I didn't see any pressure signs and hate to switch powders. I was having good results with Reloader 15 but its even more temp sensitive. H 4895 would be my next choice.
 
I did a few .308 rounds with 168gr SMKs and 42.4gr of TAC for a Tikka CTR. It’s a rainy day here. If the weather clears tomorrow, I may get to go out and shoot them.
 
Some .30-06 loads to test, using 125 grain BTs and 165 grain Game Changers...
 
9.3X57 using Varget, Norma brass and Speer 270 gr. semi-spitzers. Working past the mid 40's with the Varget, chronographing every load along the way.

And the winner was... the Game Changers over H4350. This was out of a late 1940s Husqvarna 640.

From my limited experience I think that this is a perfect nose profile for terminal performance re, straight and deep penetration, with a big wound channel. I know that the the Taylor knock down formula is a long time industry standard for killing power.

I have come to appreciate that the killing power of a bullet, all else being equal, has a lot to do with bullet diameter and nose profile. I landed on that conclusion as I progressed from .375 cal. to .500 then to .577 in my cape buffalo hunting. The observed terminal performance in the course of 12 buffalo, appeared to increase exponentially, in my opinion, as the bullet diameter went up, even though the terminal velocity went down significantly, like as much as 700 fps from .375 to .577. I think that this .452 BM bullet with it's wide flat meplat, and moderate velocity, will roll up cape buffalo much quicker than the 300 grain .375 HH bullet at standard velocity,

JMO. As I say, I offer this from limited personal hunting experience. I realize that this observation will be a bit controversial.

I did finally load up some .357 Sig rounds to test. 5 with Silhouette, 5 with Unique. The data for these is close to where I want to be... But it probably won't get there with the 3.6" barrel. I'll probably end up grabbing some Accurate #9.
 
I only re-loaded in my mind.....I just moved to St Augustine FL and my re-loading bench, re-loader, dies, and everything else is still with the mover. Just waiting for the existing family to vacate (we moved a little prematurely).
 
30/30 WIN for new to me, my fathers M94 Winchester using 130 & 150 grain Speers with AR22I9 = H335. in Starline brass & 150 grain Berrys copper plated bullets with 9 grns of trail boss for about 1300 FPS. Groups about 3 inch at 50 meters i can not see good enough with buck horn sites, about to fit a Burris red dot using a Turnbulls restorations rail that replaces the rear site with no mods to the rifle, i had forgotten how much fun lever guns are.
 
Loaded 458 Lott. 450 TSX, 78 grains H335, 3.625 COAL which puts the crimp perfectly in the front groove. Shoot very well out of my CZ 550 which started life as a 458 Win Mag. Leave in two weeks for Cape Buffalo.

I think the SST lineup is one of the more accurate hunting bullets on the market. I have yet to find a gun that won't shoot them accurately with any number of powders. Great for whitetail size game, usually full pass thru penetration and devastating wound channels.

Funny you should say that, my first real rifle was a Ruger M77MKII stainless .270win; and I tried every bullet I could get my hands on and some shot better than others but all under 1.5moa and most under 1moa and Accubonds and Interlocks would cloverleaf.

I learned a lesson when I ordered 200 140gr SST bullets thinking “these will be accurate!” Wrong! The SST was the only bullet that rifle hated and no matter what powder or seating depth it would not shoot under 3” and thankfully was able to trade them for 140gr BTSP Interlocks.

It happens. I don't have great groups with SST in my Mauser m18, but it knocks down everything I shoot. I have groups around 1moa
