@Backyardsniper Agree, getting consistently good with a Handgun under ‘hunting situations’ (especially w/open sights) takes regular practice & skill. I doubt I will ever be “good” with a Handgun —- adequate, maybe?——and only at close range <25 yrds. I know adding s scope or Red Dot would help but I have No interest it making it similar to a Rifle….rather just use a “Rifle”. I don’t hunt BG hunt w/a handgun often because I know my limitations but do enjoy hunting small game - squirrels especially and have done well on them w/Ruger SR22 and open sights, that’s fun and gets some game for the pot.![]()

you are correct! That was not my intended point of impact! That was several years ago with the 357. Shot was about 40yds. I killed one last year out of a box blind with the redhawk at about 20yds and the shot was spot on where I was aiming. It is amazing how easy it is to mess up a pistol shot! It takes a lot of practice to get good with one and it is also a very perishable skill!
