12 Year Old boy killed by a Croc in India

Where I'm from, they call the original 1600s inhabitants "Dutch," when in-fact they're German, simply because they were illiterate (of other languages) and thought Deutsch meant Dutch. True (sad) story!
 
So much for Crocs...LOL (Can't make this stuff up.) With overpopulation (and 3rd world behaviors) comes all sorts of "Tragedies!" “A total of 1122 people died due to food poisoning in India in 2024." Who are you voting for? The Crocs or the (people's own) Food? Oh, 'just getting started...Electrocution and related electrical accidents kill over 18,000 people in India annually. This alarming figure averages out to more than 30 fatalities every single day across the country. Again, F'n crocs! LOL People are the leading cause of DEATH in India! ;) Wise up.

Daily flights over nearly ALL of Asia (including India!) dropping 100s of condoms and morning after pills would cure the "Croc" problem! LOL Fuckers!
 
I have books and videos detailing how both the Maharajahs and British Officers and Royalty killed as many as 2,000 tigers over their esteemed careers. And, as a result, tiger deaths are down and hunting is now ZERO. lol That poor little boy...victimized by People. (Bengal Tigers ate crocs. Facts.) LOL SMH
 
No one want's to admit ("democracy/mob mentality" as the so-called dems call it) but Farmer John is actually correct. Sam Houston was a Republican, then Dem LOL, then Independent. W. The fact that men are willing to die in order to save someone else; just like that boys uncle playing the most god awful tug o war imaginable in that river.

Your mindset is not unfamiliar to me though, I’ve worked construction from swinging a hammer to management where NDAs are still binding but yeah….

Every mile of road and every time you flush a toilet has a cost in human life and there are some true bastards out there that will sacrifice life for profit; I was close to taking an international skyscraper project years ago but bailed when I found out their projected casualty rate of one man dead and one man crippled per vertical floor and two dead for every floor of basement excavation.

Could be done with less casualties, but that means time, equipment and training; they figured in the death benefits as a part of doing business…. Who cares right?
 
Life has inherent value. Kant would be a good candidate to read.

It could be that no one is answering you because they have found so many of your takes to be in poor taste and so far out of the normal spirit of this great forum that they have used the “ignore” button on your profile, so as to not read more of your comments. It’s quite handy and found here.

What gives life value? How about the damage done to a family with the violent death.of a child? "Who cares?" How about friends and family What if that child would have grown up to lead the world into peace and prosperity? Okay the second one is extremely unlikely, but better than someone that lived to be a hundred, and many people care.

Between 1875 and 1925, an estimated 80,000 tigers were killed in India. This mass eradication, which nearly wiped out 95% of the tiger population, was driven by colonial trophy hunting and government bounty programs that offered cash rewards for killing the animals.
There is documented incident of a female tigress killing a small croc in Ratambore Tiger reserve, however crocs are not their primary diet, wild pigs, sambar, deer and occasional cattle and gaur are.
your argument is pre-posterous!

being willing to die for others is noble. but does not answer what is the value of life.

and yes things do move in society using blood as a currency but also everyone has a choice. like you did was not worth it to you. it is to some.

the more or less casualties argument can be made but there will always be losses

appeal to emotion is not a value. yes loss of life is tragic for those involved but still irrelevant.


The issue is the world is a closed system (IE we have only whats here no reasources from off world)
as such there is a finite carrying capacity the world has for all the biodiversity on it we so love. WE as humans are beyond that.

finite resources and space. +ever growing population = less space and resources for not just us but for all the flora and fauna.

Our kids will compete for jobs mates places to live ect with all 9 billion people on the planet.
costs will go up
epidemics more common
wars over resources to benifit one in group at the expense of another more frequent.

Life does have value but not all life has the same value. How one serves ones people and nation is in my opinion the value added factor. I can respect other peoples and cultures without supporting it.

in the grand scheme of life one death while locally tragic is not that big a deal.

and by default the desire to see the kid live to be 100 your also wishing your kids/grandkids more competition for all the above.

I care because he was made in the image of God, just as you were.
Now, being a poor village boy of 12y, he probably had not consciously decided to reject that status so has every grace that can be bestowed upon him as an innocent human being.
I suppose, if you have children, you would find it completely acceptable that if one suffered such an excruciating death we would just say "who cares"

Ive heard this yarn before...

My best advice to someone who reverently adheres to such a viewpoint is - don't have children and be the first to sacrifice your own life for the betterment of society.

You did,ask the question of "Who cares!" I gave you an answer. Many do care.

I do, however, share your concern about over population and the limited resources of the planet. I'm just not willing to feed live children to crocodiles, or tigers for that matter.
