Thanks for all the prep work you are doing for this weekend! From the size of that pot, is it something you drink by the gallon? :) or you count on receiving an entire army division for the BBQ? :D

BBQ isn't anything without sauces and rubs. We'll have four different regional sauces for four different regional types of BBQ.

Yes, people tend to nearly drink my sauces.

Especially the Monday evening of my arrival there and Thursday the 4th could be good candidates for a meetup.

Next to potentially meeting with each other, if anyone has any suggestions on things I absolutely should visit or do while in Houston, I'd be very interested to hear about your suggestions.

Also, as I plan on packing my bags full of US goodies when I travel back home, if some of you have suggestions on stuff I should purchase while there (or order beforehand in time so I can take it with me), don't hesitate. I've been thinking about reloading equipment (no brass or bullets though), archery equipment and some optics (Trijicon etc.)

Reach out to me in PM or here in the thread, maybe we can organize something fun while I'm there!

Mate you are going to enjoy your visit to Texas and other parts of the USA.
They are amazing people.
One place that is a must do is R&M FIREARMS in Wharton Tx. There you will meet the amazt @Mark Biggerstaff, he is a true gentleman.
All the AHers I met in Texas and other parts of the USA were some of the best people you will meet anywhere in the world. Whilst you are in Wharton you need to go to Los Cucos medium restaurant for a great tex-mex meal.
I'm sure you will be welcomed with open arms wherever you go.
Have a great time mate, I know I did with my wife.
Warning the the speed limit in Texas is 80mph minimum. I got overtaken by a truck and I was doing 80. When I caught up to him he was sitting on 95. I wished he would have pulled over so this old truck driver could have had a go

I took Bundaberg rum and Vegemite for a few of the boys.
The Vegemite was a great hit, they all loved it, NOT.

Sorry for the (too) late chime-in. 'Haven't logged in in in awhile due to work and farmwork for elders....
City Meat Market in Giddings, TX but there are MANY in the triangle formed by 77 from La Grange northward to Giddings and then W on 71. 'Almost cannot go wrong in the BBQ Triangle! These are the types of places you have to show up early or on an odd day/time and they Will run out if you don't get there in-time! Worth the wait (and the Lipitor!) 'Hope you enjoyed your TexMex-Cheesehead adventure!
