Sierra game changers?

I got a 7 rem mag that is shooting 150 sierra game changers very well. Anybody have experience with them? Are they good enough for plains game including cape Kudu? Or should I keep developing loads with different bullets? This rifle has been very picky on bullet selection. Thanks

Johnny, The Sierra Game Changers are a traditional cup and core bullet with a polymer tip, that Sierra advertises as match grade. I have used them in my 6.5 Creedmoor and they are wonderfully accurate. However they did not penetrate well on an average mule deer and came apart.

I would not trust them on an expensive Kudu hunt. You should look at bullets that have a proven track record for performance on plains game such as Swift A-Frame, Nosler Partition, Barnes TTSX, Norma Oryx et-al.

Even if you have to give up a little accuracy use the best bullet possible. I have a 7mm Rem Mag, Sako 85. It loves match grade bullets, but I always hunt with the 175gr. Nosler Partition. I want everything in my favor when I travel around the world and spend a lot for an animal!
 
In the last 3 years I have purchased 600 of the 165 grain Sierra Gamechangers for my 308 and only have around 50 left., so I estimate I have probably shot around 400 wild boar with them. I have also found them to be very accurate and I have not had any issues with penetraion. I have actually seen exceptional penetration with these bullets even on very big boars up to 120-130kgs. I am running them out of a 308 Win though so my impact velocity will likely be a fair bit lower than the impact velocity of a 150 grain out of a 7mm Rem Mag.
