This is my blue roan filly, bred and raised by my wife and I. This was from her first show last weekend where she was reserve champion in her 4yo reining futurity class. She is cowhorse (sire) and reining (dam) bred.

At least the rifle doesn't have vet bill so in theory is cheaper to run and own.
Horses is like boats you continually throw good money at them for no reason. Once they get to a certain age they ain't much good fer anything.
Don't get me wrong I like horses and boats just would never have either

The cheapest thing about owning a horse is the purchase price. I have had one that helped earn his keep with roping winnings. Add trucks, trailers, tack, vet bills. Etc

My cousin owns race horses and says he has made money on ONE. The rest, even winning horses still lost money.

He sold and shipped that one filly to Europe.

How do you make a million dollars in the horse world, start with five million.
 
For sure 100 %, If you don't like em, don't buy. I merely mention the price of hay as a theoretical cost. I didnt buy the horse to make money, although I could. I guess you could say its a life style. But I dont have to ship it to Africa to enjoy it either,.
