The red roan horse I speak of above is a steer roping horse. It is staying local.

My roping horse past away unexpectedly this winter. He was a weekend hobby level horse. And about the cheapest you would get into a decent roping horse. And would have sold in a day for $30K.

Well technically hes just in early teens or even 8th grade by human age , still needs a little supervision.

Pretty much true. The Cowgirl Cadillac Sale is one of the big time sales here during the roping season. And there's another sale at Rancho Rio Arena that brings big money. But the ropers have an enormous positive impact on the local economy every winter. Traffic is murder but a necessary evil.

Sorry, i have no idea about alfalfa prices these days. I got out about 3 years ago. I know that summer bermuda was 18.00 for 80/90 bales. And alfalfa was more. I was lucky to quit when i did. Good horses were bringing good money right before the hay and feed prices went crazy.
That was around the same time the feds reduced the Colorado River water allotment to AZ.
