at a small gun show last weekend, i picked up a ruger red pad #1 in 375 H&H mag in ex condition with dies- 60 once fired cases and six boxs factory ammo. with the original box(no papers) serial number 131-54087 for 1200.00 usd. and a ithaca mag 10 ga semi auto shotgun with 8 boxs of 10 ga 3.5" mag shells, also in ex condition serial number 100030148 for 1000.00 usd. this show has turned up more than a few nice firearms over the years.

Not bad pickups ! You did OK
Have a Ithaca Mag 10 bought it in the late 70's had a gun shop cut the barrel to 22" and choke it EX-full. Shot turkeys every spring. Shells are getting hard to find and pricey when you do.

Love my Mag 10, it has saw many duck and geese hunts and has accounted for all of my turkeys.

Did you get the high gloss deluxe one or the plain Jane one? Back when they were still being made I though about picking up a few more barrels but never did, I"m still kicking myself in the rear for not doing it.

My brother in law had one and we found a barrel with a choke insert in it. That shotgun became a duck and goose slayer in the later part of his life.

plain jane, i,ll fire a few shells thru it to see how it recoils. it weights around 10-11 lbs.

While you will notice the recoil, the weight of the Mag 10 along with the recoil system reduces it quite a bit.

The big problem with the Mag 10 is that there is a gas cylinder that has a tendency to break with use. We had some made out of plastic nylon since parts for them are pretty much non exsistant.

Mine is pretty much a safe queen anymore.

Think it could be 3d printed? The last thing I need is another hobby but I've always thought there would be an incredible niche for old gun parts like that.

When I was hunting sandhill cranes last year, a young man beside me in the blind had an Ithaca Mag 10 and he was crushing birds.

Safe hunting

Why did you include the serial numbers in the post? Cannot remember ever seeing someone do that on purpose.

Congratulations on the additions, hope they serve you well.

well, i know who i bought them from. so it does not matter to me. my camera and computer don,t get along any more, so pictures are out.

Good snag on the Mag 10. I've been trying to find a reasonably priced Mag. 10 or Rem. SP-10 (basically the same gun, I know). Don't really need one, but unfortunately the finish line is closer than the starting line for me and I've never owned a 10 ga. My hesitation is twofold-first, not sure I want to lug/swing that heavy of a gun on birds, and secondly, is the lack of parts on guns that have been out of production for 15 to 35 years. We'll see, if I found one priced like the one you found, I'd probably take the plunge.

It could quite possibly be done.

My brother in law had a friend who had a lathe so he turned out a few for us.

For myself, most of the time gun shows are a waste of money, but occasionally, especially at smaller shows, (which are usually the worse) you can find a golden nugget.

I picked up a CZ 550 in .375 H&H for $850 a couple of years ago.
I picked up a Weatherby Mark V in .340 WBY for $950 last year.

Congratulations on some good finds, and I think the treasure hunting at smaller shows is part of the adventure. The Ruger No 1 sounds like a great bargain. I could not get that serial number to pull up on Ruger's website (which isn't uncommon); but comparing it to my own, I'm guessing it was made sometime in the first half of the 1980's. Cheers!

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
