I have not done this in a while but I wanted something cheaper to shoot besides another 22 and just have fun with .I had a Brownimg model 92 in 357 mag that the guy who had it before me had ridden horses with this one and beat the crap out of the stock .I sold it always regretted that they are impossible to find in 357 rem .I got tired of waiting bought another fun gun yesturday a gforce 357 mag 16 inch barrel 5 pound 34 inch long rifle .John Wayne and Chuck Oconners both used winchester 92s in their movies easy to shoot super smooth .I dont like henry rifles should look way better for their price .I have a Elmer Keith 170 gr 5 bullet mold hope it shoots them good .

Yes certainly. I just purchased one this morning - Ruger American Rifle Gen II Predator in .22 ARC, I'm going to fit it with my first digital day / night rifle scope with a built in LRF, which will give me automatic reticle adjustment out past 1,000 yards in theory, should be fun for metal plate shooting and hopefully some prairie dog type hunting. Planning to shoot 80 or 88 grain loads through it.

I will get an IR torch to use with it, it will be an inexpensive set up for night hunting.

I wanted a .22 Creedmoor and was on a wait list but then it appeared that Ruger stopped making the .22 Creedmoor models and changed all their offerings to .22 ARC.

It will also provide some long distance squirrel shooting, weather is improving this week it will be fun to get out in the woods.

I think I bought almost all of my firearms, save a few “tactical” things I bought for work over the years, for fun…

Yeah, two .375s, a Whitworth Mauser and a Ruger No. 1 (in 375 Flanged!). I don't plan to hunt Africa, and they're too heavy to lug around my mountains for deer and elk. And besides, I have a .270, .280 Ackley, 30-06, 8mm and 45-70 for hunting, all 1-3 pounds lighter. The 375s are just for fun.

When I go to the range I usally take about 12 or so then I am not dhooting one too much to get it too hot .I start with 22s both pistol and rifle then ruger mini 14 then 308 then 338s the. 338-378 then 416s .I think this 357 will be lots of fun and help me with shooting again like the other one did .I also shoot in the woods on the hill behind my cabin with hidden targets to simulate shooting in the woods with only a 4 inch clear shot .I will reload for this 357 and shoot a ton of cast bullets to make it cheaper to shoot a bunch .
It really sucks I cant reload 416s cheap like the good old days .Pratice really helps your shooting .I use to shoot 22 cb caps in the basement a bunch now they are harder to find .Yes you gotta find sone guns that but are nothing but fun makes a day shooting awesone and you will shoot better hunting .

I have about a dozen firearms that meet this category. Thing is i never really intended on buying most of them and most of these firearms will probably never be shot by me anyways.

The one's that will get shot are the original 100+ year old Winchesters and 44-40 lever guns, 22 Walther, M-1 Garand, and 22 Remington 12C.

I also have a list of firearms I want to add to my collection just to have. They may or may not get shot because I have firearms I would much rather shoot and hunt with.

@cash_tx, you paid to much !!! ---don't ya feel guilty about it ?
I know, right? :-) it was one of those late in the day deals that just pops up every now and then. The rifle was buried among some poorly maintained sporterized Arisakas, and the guy was only asking 225 for it. I already have a knockaround 8mm and wasn't really interested, but he offered any or all of the rifles for 150 apiece. So I told him I still wasn't sure, but 120 would make the decision easy for me; he thought for a moment and then accepted. So, I took it home and it cleaned up rather nicely. The bottom metal is stamped, which I believe means it is a late war construction. Haven't shoot it yet, but the trigger is actually pretty good.

Now that I think about it, my last half dozen or so guns were bought for "fun" in some form or another. Some were so that I could practice a skill such as stock refinishing, and some were just because it was something a bit unique at a price that was a smoking deal.

When it comes to rifles, I'd have to say that my little CZ 452 in .22 WMR is my fun / practice gun. Not as inexpensive to shoot as a .22 LR, of course, but still not too bad and a little more oomph than a .22 LR. I also think it makes a nice companion to my CZ 550 American in 9.3x62.

I came to like the .22 WMR cartridge after using my PH's Winchester 9422M to take five Guinea fowl (for the pot) in South Africa way back in 2002. I figured I needed a .22 WMR of my own.

Just my ramblings... Cheers! Bob F. :) :P Elmer Fudd:

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
