I agree 100% with this.I have done it many times. If I was unwilling to take a rifle I would see no point in owning it.

Hmm, seems my English is insufficient to understand what asking if a handle is anyone else's favorite handle means? Is it because there a many/more luminous ham handles out there, or? Is irony involved? Sorry, I'm lostSorry to derail everyone, but is @Luminous Ham anyone else's new favorite handle? And yes, I'd rather take my own rifle and roll the dice.

As I understand it from somebody in the aviation industry firearms travel in the front hold along with crew baggage. Thus they are separate from general checked luggage.I can see absolutely zero reason to fly into or through JNB unless with a high end rifle. I do not adore JNB, but if wanting to take one of my (mid-level-ish, mediocre) rifles for a stroll through the bushveld, sometimes I sadly have to wander through JNB. I have not flown with a $250k rifle, sadly do not own one, but if I did, I would absolutely want to hunt the rifling out of it, so it would go too.
While not to some standards of high-end, I have flown with Rigbys and Heyms several times now, taking a Heym double for a stroll tomorrow actually, and as I knock on wood...haven't had a problem yet, other than losing my Rigby BGR 416 for about a week after my connection in Frankfurt was cancelled, and somehow I ended up routing one way and my roller on another, and my rifle on a third. Strangest thing, as the airlines always seem to make a solid effort to keep firearms with owners/passengers. The firearms on flights always seem to take a different path than general baggage. They are loaded and offloaded separately from what I can tell, and the airlines definitely seem to try and keep close tabs on who/what/where with them.

Yes, @Muskox is correct. I meant my comment in a positive way. No irony or offense intended.Would be something about shiny pork.
Handle is what English speakers call your nickname.
