Alpha grade bullets that SHOULD have made it but didn't

If you don't mind summarizing, what was the story behind GS Custom? I recall they tried to set up a US arm but it did not last. I picked up a couple of boxes of their 180 grain HP in .330" for a 318 Westley Richards build that has yet to materialize.

From Africa. They had a small shop and factory there. It was a mom and pop operation that designed and manufacture an excellent bullet. I believe that they came out before Barnes came out with their TSX. (not sure about that.)

As I remember The daughter and her husband brought the manufacturing and sales to the USA and there they failed. I have talked to seasoned African PH's who praised the expanding and solid GSC bullets for dangerous game. I used them on plains game.

Well, if there's one thing the 458 WM DOESN'T need, it's the extra length of a mono metal. Tungsten making It short for heavy would be a god-send.
Asquare made their Triad in 465 grain . Shorter than 480 Woodleigh . I shot a couple in .450 Ne , Ruger nr 1 . The Deadtough almost didn’t stop in hard weatpack . ( industrial acid plastic jug bottom end . Hard plastic , bullet even expanding and one of best expansions I have seen .

I miss PBP Norwegian made , they could copy any bullet you wanted into copper HP . They made perhaps the best .358 bullet I have come across , 215 HP . But 185 on lowest and for 9,3 also .

300 .404 als they made and a bronze FN solid that was used by dedicated dg hunters .

Even dispatch of whale in .458 and .460 .

Looks like Northfork bought design of them now .

Well, Pondoro Taylor thought highly of a copper capped expanding bullet. I believe it may have been made by Westley-Richards, can't remember for sure. Anyone know if that bullet is still made?
It was an alpha bullet for its time. I rather suspect that be enveloped by copper, it retained all its weight even when fully expanded?

The few times I've come across the high quality German LFB ammunition, I've been very impressed. Seems like they have an excellent line of bullets for reloaders too. A wide variety of expanding, and fragmenting, and solid, and bonded bullet designs. In their brochures, and website, the LFB bullets look quite impressive. But I've never heard of them used by anyone on Africa Hunting, or any reports of their effectiveness. Perhaps they don't encourage sales outside of Germany.

Anybody remember ABC bullets by Hirtenberger?? Have any field reports on them? They were a mono metal.

They was bought up and shut down years back as I know and read .

Fox in Slovenia looks like part their design but with tin core and not so hard jacket .

As one can perhaps notice , I have followed and seen quite a few bullet types in magazines and noted names . Sadly may never was imported here .

If NF read please make a 300 .404 bullet like PBP made it , then you are on 165 06 ballistic + levels

Please , please.

Yes, I used that one, in 1994 with the cartridge 375 H&H Magnum during a hunt in Uganda. I shot some antelopes with it and other hunters have used the same bullet with the same cartridge during this hunting trip. As far as I can remember, the bullets always worked well and mushroomed perfectly without fragmenting, somewhat comparable to Barnes bullets. However, since it was a one-off event, I cannot comment on precision and accuracy at greater distances, where the TSX and TTSX bullets from Barnes have clearly proven themselves.

If I decide I need an alpha bullet I go with the Nosler partitions in the heaviest weight for caliber being used. Normally I just go with heavey for caliber cup and core bullets. Recently though I have been shooting S&B SPCE bullets in my 7 x57 and 8x57 and have been impressed with their performance. I wish I could get them to reload in my 30 and 358 calibers. For everything but bears I like my cup and core bullets.

Are Fox bullets still being made?

The ABC bullets from Hirtenberger were not entirely monometallic, the expansion was triggered by a tiny droplet of lead.
The only picture I have seen of an expanded ABC Hirtenberger, the bullet only opened up about halfway. It may have struck at a low velocity due to range?

As I wrote, I only saw a few ABC bullets caliber 375 that were used for shooting antelopes at not too long range. My hunting companions in Uganda were all Austrians and very enthusiastic about this type of bullet for shooting various game species. Unfortunately, I cannot report any more about the ABC bullets because I never used it again.

Fox bullets are being imported to Canada and sold by Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster. I just bought some in .277, 7mm, .308, and 9.3MM

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
