“If you guys don’t stop kicking the living shit out of us, we are gonna kick the living shit out of our neighbors, who are friends of yours”

Is that it in a nutshell?

If media is to believed they have issued statements saying that they would do exactly that if Trump follows through on his ultimatum.

I’m sure Iran issued those statements..

The question is whether or not they’re actually capable of doing it… and if they were capable, why haven’t they already done it?

They have already intentionally attacked civilian establishments in the region.. they have made it clear they want to hurt the gulf states throughout the region in an effort to assert pressure on the US and Israel…

This would be no different than launching missiles at civilian housing complexes where thousands of innocents live… which they have already done, and have attempted to do, hundreds of times over the last few weeks..

Depending on which report you believe, Iran has had a total success rate with attacks ranging from 5-10%… and almost all of those successful attacks happened in the first week when they had enough munitions to launch multiple large scale multi pronged attacks at once..

They’re running out of munitions and launchers… and the US has plussed up defenses since the war started..

So they SAY they will attack desalination plants…

The question is… can they? And what does anyone think their success rate will be?

Baghdad Bob said a lot of shit too… almost all of it was false..

What makes you think they can not..??

The iranian missiles are still flying against Israel..obviously the still have more than a few left..and drones..

Imagine the gulf states deprived of fresh water...

And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Republicans refusing to negotiate at all with the Dems. Unfortunately the standard republicans imposed during the Biden administration was everything bad that happens under Biden is his fault. Therefore by the same standard, TSA agents not gettign paid is all trumps fault.
Trying to flip the reality of the narrative is straight out of the Democrat playbook. Not surprising, coming from a leftist lemming like yourself.
Schumer, and the rest of his crony swamp rats want to harness the power of ICE, hence the DHS funding block.
The Dems don't like the fact that their voters and welfare rats are getting rounded up, and shipped out.

Jesus dude, you realize that more US troops is what Iran wants. More potential targets. More likely to get US involved in a limited ground war where they can kill more US soldiers. While I'm sure they dont want their power plants destroyed, doing so would cause them to increase their attacks on others in the region, and on others oil/gas infrastructure as well, which would further increase the price of gas. They have also demonstrated that they don't really care about the suffering of their own people, so threatening to blow up more of their shit doesn't have quite the effect you think it does.
Is that the latest CNN talking point, Mr. Lemming?.....LOL

Irans coast line in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman is 2440km..

Plenty room for assymetric warfare et all..

So the entire coastline has to be secured unless a deal can be struck with Iran..to open the Strait of Hormuz..

No no...it must be reopened..the world demands it..

"the world demands it"?

Is that the same world that doesn't want to lend a hand? If so the world can just shut the fk up. (to use Spike's version)

What makes me think they possibly cannot is the obvious… the FACTS… which you seem to ignore and attempt to replace with emotion…

Read the prior posts…

They have made lots of threats that they havent followed through oN

They have had a 5-10% success rate… and most of those successes occurred weeks ago… their success rate in missile and drone attacks goes lower each day… one of the disadvantages of their mosaic system is the provinces now operate independently.. there is limited coordination between IRGC groups.. which makes large scale coordinated attacks difficult.. small scale attacks involving less than 10 missiles flying are much easier to thwart and defend against than large scale coordinated attacks… the fact that their success rate is dwindling to almost nothing at this point is telling…

The US increases military presence and drone/missile defense capability in the region daily.. while Iranian launchers and stockpiles decrease daily..

Could they get lucky and attack a dozen plants and maybe hit one? Sure… it’s a possibility..

The likelihood the hit several, based on the actual facts and evidence available from the last few weeks.. is pretty close to zero..

Could the US on the other hand take out the entire Iranian power grid tonight if it wanted to? The facts and evidence clearly show that is entirely not only possible, but probable…

Imagine the gulf states without water?

That seems to be your problem.. you imagine a lot of bullshit that is unlikely to become true based on facts…

But it sure gives you something to get emotional and cry over..

I am confident in that you will continue making a greater mess of it all..

And I’m confident you’ll continue to cry and rage and hate.. over something you can’t control.. and that no one else will care about your crying at all…

Ranked choice is stupid. Who you want the most? Pick who you want and call it good. I don't need to rank the ones I wouldn't vote for.

You have lived with it and probably have a Senator you wouldn’t have do to ranked choice.

Is Alaska going to get rid of it anytime soon?

I sure hope so. I haven't looked into the probability lately. And yeah, we have a few on the state and national level that likely wouldn't be there. I just don't get the notion of "I want this person to be elected"... and voting for that person.

Edit: it will be a ballot item this year. It was defeated 50.1 to 49.9 two years ago.

For what it’s worth, OSINT radar shows that there have been ZERO Iranian ballistic missile launches in the last 72 hours…

They certainly still have some..

But no… for the moment they are not actually “flying against Israel” or anyone else for that matter…

I don't see how Murkowski can call herself a Republican and keep a straight face. Her own party in Alaska endorsed someone else the last time, and ranked choice is what got her back to Washington, not what Alaska Republicans actually wanted.

It does sound like fuel prices are rising almost as much in the US as in other parts of the world so one might assume internal pressure on him will rise almost as much as external pressure...
gas euro.jpg

Seriously though, I'm in the heart of "MAGA Country" and I'm paying $0.60 per gallon more for ethanol free gasoline than I was before things kicked off with Iran.

it's kinda sporty in here these days.

Quick question for the peanut gallery - especially those that know more about energy infrastructure.

If the US has established influence in Venezuela, this partially reduces oil flow to China.
If we stop up the Gulf oil flow, it reduces oil flow to China.
If we neutralize the Iranian problem and restore flow, it reduces the flow or increases the cost to China.

Meanwhile, without knowing the real #'s, I think the US imports less than 5-10% of oil and gas from the region as we are pretty much self sufficient thanks to shale extraction tech.

Is there an angle at play where, as long as we don't send in troops, we just keep laying waste to Iran until the threat is eliminated and in the worst case, even if the surrounding oil production infrastructure of the Gulf region is decimated, America becomes the primary oil & gas seller?

Further along - Trump has disparaged NATO in the past and recently. He's not a fan of the UN, and I would posit, he's not looking at the EU as friends as much as parasites in an economic sense.

This situation would leave EU hurting for fuel, China impacted on it's oil supply from 2 major sources, NATO and UN on a path to breaking up, and leaving EU to face the ever-perceived threat of Russia (not stating opinion here... just noticing an eternal trend) on their own without US funding or treaty support.

The Euro collapses, the US maintains dollar as the reserve currency and it now has a path to grow stronger.
