So those that know, know, this is the coveted extended eye relief version of the Z6i that was sadly dropped from their scope line.
Scope appears in as new, mint condition optically and near new cosmetically. It was said to be mounted on a traveler model rifle by Dakota and once sighted, used for test targets, and then rifle was not ever carried or hunted per the auction/seller. There was a number of minty Dakota rifles that all sold in the same auction, all mint and advertised as unfired after leaving the factory. All scopes were dismounted and rifles sold with rings and bases, and scopes sold separately.
I ended up buying a couple of these and do not have a need for this one. I did not get any box or paperwork with the scope. There are no distinct ring marks, like through the finish, but when it arrived I could see where the verticle Talley rings were from what seemed like a residue under the rings, which wiped away with a damp paper towel. I tried to take photos from angles in the bright sunlight to show raking light along the tube in effort to show the condition as accurately as possible. I can say there are no serious ring marks, but cannot say if someone held it in the right light and perfect angle, someone with better eyes than me might be able to see where the rings were, especially since it appears it sat in the rings stored for a few years.
Seems like these scopes have sold all over the place price wise, some for incredibly high prices compared to new Z8i models…but those if I recall correctly had boxes and paperwork and such. Trying to price this one fairly, so if I’m out of line, please feel free to say so, and rarely offended by offers.
$3,450 shipped within the US.
Trades, I’d consider 8x32 Swaro Pure or Range binos, .458 and .510 Woodleigh hydros, 450 3 1/4” and 500 Nitro brass. Cant think of anything else I might have present need, but feel free to reach out. I have some other optics (Swarovision EL 10x42 and Leica Geovid HD 3000-B) and some leather odds and ends I need to get cleaned out so it’s not just taking up space unused.
Cheers and thanks for looking.
