As I ponder world events since the Hamas attack on Israel in 2023. Was an individual or two with the will to defeat terrorism all it ever really took.

Perhaps I have missed him but one individual who seems quite the past couple of days is Jake Sullivan.

It would appear the counter missile campaign is being pretty successful. The few Iranian missiles that make it through are great for TV, but considering the size of their pre-war arsenal, the retaliation has been pretty pathetic. These warheads are about the size of a 500-1000lb bomb depending on the model. It looks like perhaps a dozen or so have hit primarily civilian targets in the Gulf region. A single F-16 would carry four to six 1000lb bombs on a single mission (sortie). In other words Iran has generated the equivalent of two or three F-16 sorties. The US and the IDF flew approximately 1500 sorties in the first 12 hours of this conflict. The vast majority of the ordnance they carried hit exactly on target.

In 1968 and 1975, I had the good fortune to visit Iran back when the Shah of Iran ran the show. It was truly a gem of the Middle East.

Rich Persian culture, art & music that brought joy to the hearts of even the most jaded military veteran, women being free to study & work & live life on their own terms and a country where people of different religious beliefs lived together in harmony.

I have a fond memory of how I once had lunch with my parents & an American family friend of theirs at an Iranian restaurant just South of Tehran. I had the lamb Bonab kebab and my parents ate a platter of chicken Kabsa, while our American family friend dined upon a plate of flame grilled ham & fried eggs. Despite being Muslim, the consumption of pork around us didn't even remotely bother us at all. Nor did it bother anybody else at the restaurant (the bulk of whom were also Muslim). The chef who prepared all of our meals nonchalantly handed our American friend his plate of ham & eggs and then went off to take a break to perform his Friday Muslim prayer. To us all, it was just another beautiful day under God's green earth.

Then, the disgusting "Islamic Revolution" led by the Khamenei Regime destroyed Iran in 1979. Previously, the Shah of Iran had used brutal methods in order to keep Islamic radicals under control. Brutal, but necessary. You can't suppress evil by being nice. The radical Islamic groups initially rallied several kinds of people against the Shah for "Violation of basic human rights". Including many female activists & scholars. But just within a week of the Shah being overthrown, the Khamenei Regime (in the name of so-called "Islamic Values") killed many more Iranian civilians than the Shah killed in his entire life. And those female activists ? The ones who weren't killed outright, were forced to wear burkhas & disappear from public life in order to be "Proper Muslim Women". Suddenly, the Iranians realized that the Shah of Iran wasn't a monster. He was the only thing which was holding the monsters at bay.

47 years passed. People in Iran began to crave a free life again. But any protests for freedom from a sick Islamic lifestyle led to only one end result- mass public executions. Just two weeks ago, the Khamenei Regime executed 36,500+ unarmed Iranian civilians within 48 hours.

Iran's so-called "Islamic Revolution" sparked similar uprisings of cultists in other parts of the world (most notably Afghanistan) and led to radical Islam suddenly being just as big of a world threat as Nazi Germany became in the 1930s. The problem had also been manifesting itself in my country, as well.

Today, all that changed. The United States and Israel did what many world leaders haven't had the guts to do since that nightmare of 1979. They eradicated that filthy cultist Khamenei and in doing so... finally saved the people of Iran. Are Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu morally good people ? I don't know (and quite frankly, I couldn't care less). But what I do know, is that they did a very good thing.

This year is turning out to be a very good one. The Americans & Israelis took down Khamenei. Pakistan is fighting off the Taliban in Afghanistan. And in Bangladesh, we successfully prevented the radical Muslims from taking over our country through National elections and timely intervention by the army.

Say no to Shariah Law. By any means necessary. It is evil and you can't suppress evil by being nice. I say it despite being Muslim.

Many Muslims not living in Iran are outraged about America & Israel's actions. These same people cry everyday on social media about the so-called atrocities in Gaza. Yet they were eerily silent for the last two weeks when the Iranian government was wantonly executing 36,500 men & women & children. Their own people. Women who wanted to wear their hair open, men & women who wanted to paint and play music, minorites who wanted to live in dignity without being forced to live a religious lifestyle which they didn't ideologically subscribe to.

You see, that's the hypocrisy about us Muslims. We only care about the atrocities being committed on Muslims when the perpetrators are non-Muslim. If it's a Muslim killing other Muslims (or anybody else in general), then we don't even bat an eyelid.

Approximately 15% of the Muslim population is Shiite, which are typically the radical sect.

It’s so tiresome.

Well no actually. You need to read up on this more.

ISIS, as brutal a Muslim fundamentalist organization as ever murdered its way across the Middle East, was Suni. Al Qaeda, the perpetrators of 911, were Suni. This is not to say that that the Shia have been blameless - we only have to look at Iran. But Islamic fundamentalism has emerged in both major Islamic sects.

Don’t discount certain sects within Sunni Islam..

All 19 9/11 hijackers were Sunni.. Al Queda is/was a Sunni organization… ISIL is Sunni… Al Shebab is Sunni..

While I don’t disagree that many of the Muslim terrorist organizations are of Shia faith (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, etc)… there are plenty of Sunni organizations out there as well…

Having spent a lot of time in the Middle East and SW Asia… I’ve found there are some really great guys that are Shia.. and some great guys that are Sunni…

And some real shit bags that are Shia.. and some real shit bags that are Sunni..

It’s really more about the individual and being radicalized than it is the faith…

While not as numerous, I’ve run across a number of radicalized “Christians” (not really Christian at all… but they’ll tell you that they are) that are huge shit bags as well..

Once again we’re making similar posts at the same time… :)

We need to quit typing simultaneously.

Iran is 90-95,% Shiite. The Houthis are an off branch of the Shiites.
There are approximately 6x more Sunni's.
If you break it down as a percentage of population, I would think there are more radical Shiites vs. Sunni's.

As a % maybe… I’m unaware of the total number of radicalized Shia muslims vs Sunni Muslims…

But… Shia represent about 200m people worldwide and the overwhelming majority live in 4 countries… Iran (almost half their global numbers), Iraq, Pakistan, and India.. and they are a minority population in all of those countries except Iran..

There are roughly 1.8B Sunni in the world, and they span most of the globe… in every Muslim nation with the exception of Iran, they are the majority…

Globally ISIS has been estimated to have as many as 200,000 members or supporters…

For Shia radicalization to just get close to ISIS numbers, literally one in every 100 Shia on the planet would have to be radicalized.. (clearly a huge swath of the 100m in Iran are opposed to the radicalized path).. so the numbers are highly likely to be much lower…

Then factor in Wahabists, Al Queda, Al Shebab, Boko Haram, taliban, JNIM, and all the other large Sunni radicalized groups… from a numbers perspective, it’s almost impossible for Shias to get close… (although again, I am not sure of any study that shows how things sit from a % of population standpoint..)..

A Pastor I follow, who is also an eschatologist, stated this morning while talking about Iran from a biblical perspective, that the sign of the end times will be when Iran, Turkey, and Russia, all attack Israel.
He did not elaborate how he came to that conclusion.

I’d be curious to hear him speak on that and try to figure out why he thinks that…that’s definitely something I haven’t heard elsewhere… do you have a link?

OBL was a Sunni from Saudi Arabia. I remember seeing a wanted poster of his mug, possibly homemade, hanging in a small B&B in the middle of nowhere in Western AK at least 5 years before 9-11. Someone knew something but few of the powers that be were paying attention. Food for thought. Also, unless my memory is failing, didn’t the Slick Willie admin have him in the sights of a predator drone and the Slickster denied the Spec Ops operator permission to take the shot?

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
