What is your dream hunt in Africa..?

I’ve never been to Africa. If I had the chance, I would like to hunt plains game in Namibia. A Sable would be my top pick. Maybe with some upland bird in between because I heard that’s an option as well.

I leave for mine in 58 days. Buffalo hunting in Limpopo. After that dream, the next one is a mixed bag in the Eastern Cape in 27. After that, Lord willing, who knows. I'd like to have a surf n turf in NZ!

Elephant now.

It was Cape Buffalo until I got one in 2021, but I would definitely hunt another!

For me it would be a true “Full Bag” safari like the glory days…
In the Ngoro Crater (why not if we are just dreaming) including Black Rhino …
Huge Tuskers roaming and prides of Magnificent Lions with Kilimanjaro in the background…
Hey… you can still do most of this right? Some of the glory days are still here…
CME and me are putting a deposit down tomorrow at SCI on the nearest thing to the above that still exists

Keep dreaming, there’s more Maasai people, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs and Chinese motorcycles than wild animals.

There are no people or livestock in game reserves in Tanzania. It depends how area is classified.

You forgot cell phones. He is going to get his taste of Massailand in July. The amount of cowbells one hears on a daily basis there is truly amazing.

A month in Africa hunting buffalo, tracking eland, hunting large kudu, a croc and all of these can be Namibia. Then throw in a sable and some of the tiny 10 in east cape and make some of it mountain hunting.
The buffalo I would want to hunt with a double. Make 5 days or so bowhunting whatever my heart desires.
I have done some of this but I want more.

Realistically, My Lesser Kudu in Tanzania and My Leopard were my two dream hunts. I never thought I would be able to pull them off but got lucky. My dad and I each got our first buffalo on the same safari together.

Now my dreams are different now, I have Cameroon and Ethiopia booked for Bushbucks. So the last on my dream list is Uganda.

I do want to take one short trip with the family to South Africa, I just want to see Africa through their eyes.

A bigass buffalo, a sable, and a lesser kudu would be mine. Throw in a rhino green hunt and possibly a leopard and I would be satisfied.

Where are you two booking?

6 week, full bag safari in Tanzania. Long enough to do plenty of non-hunting things too. Just totally relax and take what comes. Tent-style, with a fire-warmed bath, pick up and move when the situation calls for it, etc.

Right there with you. Or something similar to Ruark's Horn of the Hunter.
A long, no time limit, no bag limit, no cost limit real, dyed in the wool, out in the boonies hunt for the big 5 and all the plains game, winged fowl and gin I could stomach.Throw in a nice sable, kudu and nyala, maybe a bongo add in some spicy leopard and a fun warthog . . . . sigh
Anyone got a spare $M laying around they arent gonna use?

Another hunt with Derren Eellerman at Kambako Safaris in there burn down camp in Mozambique.

I'd start by saying I never thought I would have been to Africa 5 times already, so if I never got to go again, I would be incredibly thankful for the experiences I've had.

But, if a guy could dream, I'd like to go on a 21-30 day big 5 safari, in someplace like Tanzania, Botswana, or the Caprivi. This is more than I'd ever spend even if I had more financial resources than I do.....though I am very passionate about African hunting, the prices of some of this stuff is insane. When you get a glimpse behind the curtain of the folks that can really afford it and the resources they have at their disposal, I can't begrudge them from spending it on big game hunting LOL, it's quite a lifestyle.

Full bag in Masailand.
