What knife are you carrying everyday right now?

While I have a small pile of knives, day in and day out these two get used more than any others.
Both are Buck 112 in the Slim or Lite model handles. The top one is for work and has been opening cardboard boxes and such for over 7 years on a daily basis. The thumb stud broke after maybe a year, I can flick it open without it. Pretty easy to see how cardboard dulling it and regular sharpening has shortened it over time. The bottom is for the rest of my time, it's a couple years younger. Funny thing, the clip broke on the newer one, while thee top one is still going strong.

I keep a Bear & Son Barlo in my pocket for everyday use, it is comfortable and meets my needs. I keep a Leatherman Wave in my truck. I keep a Cold Steel Master Hunter and a EKA Swing Blade in my go bag/hunting day bag, also in my truck.

Kershaw Leek all the time..

At work, I carry the Snap-on w/ liner lock

Not at work, I carry the silver partial serrated w/ frame lock

Both have pocket clips and are assisted opening...

If I am wearing anything with pockets, I have a knife. Still in my PJ's but I have a Victorinox Waiter in my pocket. Used it to open my "brunch wine" this morning. :D

It's strange how modern society frowns on a pocket knife being pulled out for utilitarian purposes. Colombia is a violent country, but pull out a pocket knife to open a bag of coffee and people will act like you pulled a machinegun. And they often proclaim, "Oh! He walks around armed!" Meanwhile every Campesino in town has a machete strapped to his side. Some things here I will never understand. In the US you will get same from a Karen.

Safe Travels

I’ve been carrying a Kizer Drop Bear for about 6 months now. Great blade, compact and sharp as hell. Reasonably priced too. I seem to have a penchant for losing pocket knives for some reason.

My current trio: a basic Swiss Army, a Buck Spitfire, and a Cold Steel Bowie. Okay so the big one isn’t always on my belt, but rides nicely on the shoulder strap behind the Wilderness Tactical Safepacker toting my 1911. I can’t say enough good things about this rig; throw on a jacket and it’s great way to conceal some serious steel!

I am a (semi) recovered knife addict. I have owned a lot of high end knives, and still have several, but have pared down my collection over the years to focus on utility. I have come to favor basic steel (like Buck 420HC) for everyday uses, as it works reasonably well and is very easy to resharpen. The high speed steels have their place in extreme situations, but they are more difficult to sharpen. They will seem like they’ll hold that edge forever, but it’s gradually wearing down, and unless you’re in the habit of touching up after every use, the task can become daunting when the time comes. A multi tool rides in each vehicle and in the day bag, but rarely on a belt. I will never understand why a man (or woman) wouldn’t carry a knife daily everywhere it’s allowed. I’ve been carrying a knife daily since I was 8 years old.

On the topic of knives. This is coming up
I’ve attended the last 2 years in a row… if you make knives it’s a good place to pick up materials… several vendors are present that have everything from steel to handle and pin materials of all types and qualities…

If you’re just into sharp stuff it’s a pretty cool event as well.. several forged in fire winners are always walking around and displaying their wares.. the convention hall of full of everything from guys selling production blades to guys selling customs worth thousands of dollars… many of the guild members are present, several master smiths, etc…

Compared to the blade show in Atlanta, the Fort Worth show is pretty small… if I were going to travel to see a knife show, I’d do the ATL show… it is to knives what SCI is to international hunting…

But if I lived within a few hours radius of DFW, I’d definitely recommend checking out the show in Ft Worth.., it’s a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon..

Agreed. I went to the Fort Worth show year before last but work didn’t cooperate last year. Planning on going this year.

If you’re going to be there, we’ll have to link up for a coffee or a burger somewhere…

@Mountainshadows has come down the last couple of years… I’m not sure if he’s planning on doing it again this year or not, but if he’s in town I’m sure we’ll link up and head over there together..

Sounds like a plan (y)

Spyderco Paramilitary 2
Bought for something a little bigger to take to Africa. It’s my EDC folder of late.

An oldie is the Spyderco Horn half-serrated I carried for most of three decades. A (pre 9-11) airport security agent in Chicago tried to confiscate it back when pocket knives weren't quite so scary. I still have it (took it back outside and had a baggage agent check my briefcase as luggage .)

I’m always on the hunt for a new knife, especially folders. Only have close to a hundred probably but who cares? Currently carrying the Spyderco Metropolitan right now. Highly recommend.
I carry a case trapper Corbon blade
And a kershaw assisted opening on my weak side for retention purposes
Oh and the queen steal #43 as a gentleman knife food one blade and thorns and finger nails with the other blade

Us to be a case stockman 3 blade
But gave it back to the son of the man that gave it to me after he died.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
