What knife are you carrying everyday right now?

old school spider endura that I’ve had for 30+ years… or a NRA branded kershaw that I got probably 10-12 years ago when I volunteered at one of the conventions… I swap between the two pretty regularly…

Without exaggerating I’ve probably got 50-70 folders ranging in quality from good to great, and another dozen cheapies that I’ve pick up over the years that serve as desk drawer knives, tacklebox knives, glove box knives, etc…

My latest blade obsession is multi-tools… I’m guessing I’m up to a dozen of those.. mostly different gerbers, but there’s a leatherman or two and a sog or two in the pile too… I keep one in every pack, every glove box, in the UTV, the boat, etc etc..

I’m always on the hunt for a new knife, especially folders. Only have close to a hundred probably but who cares? Currently carrying the Spyderco Metropolitan right now. Highly recommend.
I carry a victorinox. With a mini s beaner and about 3 ft of gutted paracord for a lanyard.it comes in very handy. I cut alot of seat belts and peoples clothes with it. And little odds and end stuff at work.

I really like my Benchmade Impel for EDC. Small enough, but effective for day to day tasks. I also have on me my Swiss Army Knife, but only because it's personalized and I assembled it myself at the factory in Brunnen.

Sounds like a cool story whats the backstory on building it?
If you visit the museum/store, you can "make your own". We took my nephew there a few years ago and all sat down and put one together. I'll see if I can find a photo somewhere. https://www.victorinox.com/en-US/Victorinox-Store-Brunnen/cms/store-brunnen/

One of the things you learn in the museum is early on the knives were designed to be assembled on a rather compact machine/press. Instead of a large factory, the machines were sent to homemakers, etc. and they were paid a piecework rate for what they assembled. It was a good way to have a large production capacity without a large factory footprint.

edited to add: The thing I like best about it (or rather the tool I like best on it) is they have a small "eyeglass size" screwdriver that screws into the corkscrew for storage. If I had a nickel for every time I used that to adjust glasses, adjust sunglasses, tighten the main screw on the Impel, etc. etc. etc...

Great thread!

Looking forward to checking in each day for everyone's KOTD - Knife of the Day.

A former colleague and I were once doing our daily 'what knife today' ritual, when a female co-worker made a comment about boys and their toys.

Without missing a beat, he quipped, 'we don't wear the same tie every day, why would we carry the same pocket knife every day'. :ROFLMAO:

My KOTD today is Benchmade's Pika - a cheapie but a goodie.

Keep them coming.

Honeybadger flipper for me. Mostly open boxes and pop bottle caps but have used it to open up holes in impala leg to tie it on the back of my 4x4. I often mull over the perfect etc, should it be a Swiss army knife with useful gadgets or a plier based leatherman or just a plain knife blade. I seem to change my mind every couple of years.

Going on the hunt for one of these. I have 6 to 8 or so Benchmades but haven’t seen this model. Thanks for spending my money!

I have one as well. Great knife.

The figures or totals in these collections are way higher than expected. But I am envious nonetheless.
I don’t carry a knife daily but at times I have had a pocket knife or Leatherman on my belt daily.
I have a Leatherman on my backpack that I carry to and from work.

It’s surprising how often you reach for it when it’s on your belt.

Cut to the chase if I am wearing a pocket knife it’s probably my Joseph Rodger’s Bunny knife or an Old Timer.

I have had countless cheapies as a kid. I have a few folders and plenty of of commercial kitchen and butchers knives. The numbers would add up.

I have a Von Gruff custom knife that he designed around my request.

I have a couple of other small hunting knives in my daypack. I really don’t need anymore but they have not imposed a limit on them yet.

I don't carry a knife. Never have. Hate having crap in my pockets. Haven't had a real wallet for maybe 25 years. A small one for cards is in my front pants pocket. Nowadays I carry no change or paper money. About five years ago I found a new hunter orange Klingon folding knife on the sidewalk when walking the dogs. A Chinese thing but very sharp. It resides in the glove compartment of my SUV. I have a hunting sheath knife from the 1930s that's inside my daypack when chasing deer. A mini multitool is zipped into a chest pocket on my upland vest. It's there for looking after the dogs (thorns or quills).

There's been a Victorinox Tinker in my pocket for most of my adult life. Sometimes there's a 2nd, larger blade in another pocket, but the Tinker is always with me. There's a spare one in both trucks, just in case. Like others here, there's a variety of others scattered throughout the house, an old Old Timer 3 blade with a sheeps head sits on the table next my chair. Never understood a man that didn't carry a pocket knife, it's as basic an EDC item as underwear.
