Next one I'm listing here is this new in box unfired Ruger No.3 in 45/70 Govt. Excellent NOS condition as you would expect and unused rifle to be. The box is starting to show its age. Can take more pics of anything needed. Will ship from me as an individual with a copy of my Id in the box. Asking $1550 shipped Rifle is cross posted

Wow, truly a new/old rifle!

I dearly wanted one of those when it came out in the 70s. I later got a Marlin 45-70 and shot stiff loads (with added fat Decelerator pad). I quickly realized I was glad I didn't have the 6 pound No 3 with the steel butt plate.

i have shot quite a few deer with my #3 in 45-70 and altho it shows alot of honest hunting wear there are no pits-rust. i would not sell my well worn #3 for that. target was shot at 100 yards from the bench with 50 grs H-4198 and a 300 gr hornady bullet.

stump was shot at 300 yards, just to see if i could hit it. i think i was holding about 3-4 feet above it.

If my memory serves me (Careful statement with only once cup of coffee today) that they can be restocked with a #1 butt and fore end and that will help with weight and fit alot.

@PAUL_MAUSER
Dang I knew I should have bought that No3 in 22 Hornet for $550 when I had the chance
Still slap myself for not doing so.

i meant does this rifle have the standard leade in the chamber? my no. 1 has the short leade and i cannot chamber long bullets.
@thomaskerr1237
Easy fix, take it to a gunsmith and get the throat lengthened to suit your needs. It will still shoot short bullets well and you can seat them all out a bit further. That way you can put more coal on the fire aas well.

Yep, you sure can. I did this one, a no3 with no1 wood, then made it into a stalking rifle, 45-70

Those are awesome wish I had bought the only one in 375 winchester I ever saw .In Nevada everyone rode horses with their guns and beat the crap out of the wood .It had bangs and dings all over .Thats the rarest caliber of all they made .I think they made 22 hornet ,223 ,30-40 krag , 375 win , 44 mag , 45-70 .They made a few from another company in 454 and 22-454 .They are awesome little guns .There was someone that made a recoil pad to fit those that replaced the steel buttplate .

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
