I just had a 375 H&H Ackley Improved built recently. It wears a 24" Krieger barrel. I have fireformed a few brass and I am currently working on the AI loads.

I have 270 Hornady SP 260 Accubonds and 250 Barnes TTSX.

I have access to about every powder out there. Any suggestions for a load?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year.

For a AI round I would just start at the parents case, in thing case it would be the 375HH and then work my way up as you should with any new loads.

I load for a few wildcat rounds where there is no actual load information published. I just start low and work my way up to where I want to be with a safe load.

Yes sir. I have done this in the past with my 223 AI, 22-250 AI, and my 25-06 AI. I was just wondering what people with similar setups have come up with. Perhaps I did not make that clear in my post. My bad.

No it was clear, but with the AI only perhaps giving you a extra 200 fps it would be best to work up a load.

If you want you can look at the 375 Weatherby load data since it is very close to the 375 HH AI.

I have a IMR 4320 load (basically I think you could substitute VARGET) that pushes a 270 TSX 2830fps out of a 23 inch barrel 375 HH. I like 4320 but it is a thing of the past, I bought 15 lbs of it some years ago and can't seem to use it up. Check the Barnes data, should lead you down a good path

I really want to convert my 375 HH to 375 Weatherby. Push the 300 up to 2700 or a 350 around 2550 or better. Lil throttle push over the master. Should be good

What ever came of the H&H AI??? I have a 30-30 AI in a 14” Contender. In that small of a case it was a big gain. With the major taper of the H&H, I see this one having a BIG gain AND not having the brass grow much.

I stopped at 2850 ft per second with CFE 223 and the 250 grain ttsx

That’s where I’m at with my 375. All the velocity Id want. Any more capacity I’d use to push weight up.

I shoot 270gr interlocks loaded with IMR4350 in mine. Pretty accurate, made quick work of a moose last year with that load.

I get 2806 FPS with 80 grins of CFE223 in the standard 375 H&H. My 375 is a MarkX Interarms with 23.6" barrel

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.

Dan who is C. W. Richter? He seems to not be a fan of myself!
